Hi guys,
So I have the Spark with the RC and I lose video signal when I fly like 20m away from me. Sometimes I can get broken video around 50m and I managed to fly it line of sight to 100m at which point it complained it lost signal and started RTH. I could still control it so I flew it back. Anyone else having issues like this?

Running latest firmware for RC and Spark, and latest app version
iPhone 7+ on iOS 10.3.3 (Airplane mode so no cell interferance)
I had around 17 satellites.
I've tried in an open field with nothing around me for 200m
I've tried using WiFi to connect to the RC as well as an OTG cable.
I've even tried different locations

Is this just a limitation of the Spark or do I have a dodgy product? I mean its fun to fly around line-of-sight but I can't see the camera to take pictures or know what I'm looking at to shoot video. Seems like quite a problem

Good point, but I have flown with and without it and had the same results. Will try again with it switched off just to be sure.

Yeah i have the same issue. Open field, around me nothing in 200m. After 100-150 meters horizontally OR 70m vertical video got laggy and im starting to lose connection etc.
No matter if i use RC+OTG+Iphone in airplane mode, RC+OTG+I phone with BT and Wifi switched off or using RC+Iphone Wifi connection

And at this point i dont know if its a problem with Spark or RC so i have to make it warranty case or im doing something wrong. Im using Hama OTG cable and standard Apple lightning cable.

Well I'm gonna try after work again to see how it goes with no watch. Also going to borrow and Android phone and see if thats any better than an iPhone. If its still bad I think I'll send it in to DJI and see what they say...

Ditto for me. Clear line of sight 100m above launch point and 50m out lost video and signal went weak, asked to return home and I wasn't going to argue. Got signal back at about 50m directly above me. Could this be interference? Seems to be common and mostly well inside visible line of sight (fortunately).

Well as an update I went out to a beach to do some more tests.
I tried the following:

• iPhone 7+ with WiFi and OTG cable
• LG G6 with WiFi and OTG cable
• Smartwatch on and off
  

What I found is that no matter the combination above if I flew horizontally 20m I would start to see video issues. At 45m horizontally I would completely lose signal.
If I flew the drone 25m vertically directly over me I would completely lose signal.

The disconnects happened at the same distances on both phones and all combinations. This is now also my 3rd completely different area that I've tried to fly.

Apps, RC and Spark all latest versions.
All callibration shows Excellent rating.

Am I being a drone noob and doing something horribly wrong or is this kinda a bigger issue?

I have the same problem with android phone, latest software both on phone and RC. Did DJI solve the problem?

Today I was using my spark with pixel 2 in airplane mode and both fully battery and I lost the signal always over 25m over my head. On an almost empty channel. And also in auto.

Quite frustrated

downgrade the Spark firmware to 0.600 or 0.500 and check....
