I came across someone (and others) who were having a problem with video stuttering on his DJI Spark when bringing it into FCP X. He found that by using Adobe Media Converter this eliminated the stuttering.( I have yet to try this approach.) It immediately rang a bell with the stuttering problem using DJI GO app with my Osmo Mobile and iPhone SE. OK, I’m not really up to speed with the tech specifics of Frame Rates but his issue was that the FPS was 29.98 rather than 29.97. This was specific to importing into FCP X, in other programs the FPS was showing 29.97. This lead me to wondering if there was a FPS connection with the stuttering using DJI GO app.Especially after doing a shoot yesterday where the footage is unusable due to the stuttering. So I started looking at the Meta Data from yesterdays shoot and the FPS were all over the place; 29.5, 28.92, 28.96, 29.56, 29.27, 28.38. etc. etc. That started me thinking about just what my other camera frame rate were.
iPhone 5 29.97 a very few with 29.98 Canon 70D 29.97 HDR-XR500 29.97 Sony RX100 29.97 Sony AX53E 29.97 Sony RX-10 ii 29.97 DJI Phantom 3 29.97 DJI Mavic Pro 29.97 iPhone SE 29.98 all 29.98
It does not make sense that I am getting such a large variance in FPS when using Osmo Mobile and iPhone SE with the DJI Go app. Using the Osmo Mobile with Filmic Pro rather than DJI GO. app I have no variance with the frame rate.
The YouTube link below was the person having the stuttering problem.
WanderWorx DJI Spark MAJOR ISSUE with FCPX!
Is this why we are having such a problem with stuttering.????
