I don't use the hood, just use the OVER EXPOSURE WARNING to help you with the exposure.

You can also use the AUTO SETTING and then switch to MANUAL and play with the setting to your liking.

Auto Focus in the beginning and during and don't go up too high because you will miss all the details beneath you.
