This I got the other day and it's almost doubled my range, I got it out to 3000 feet or so before losing connection and it coming back. Really happy with it!! I don't think I need it to go much further than that!!

It was using the OTG cable.. To be honest I can;t remember if I tested it with the OTG in this particular place before, pretty sure I did but I will try it again next time with and without the extenders! I might go somewhere now and try it quickly too :-)

Ok, tested it. Not very scientific but it worked for me.. ;) Without extenders, got to about 650 feet away before it started to lose RC signal, lost it completely around 700ft, brought it back, hovered and addedthe extenders, sent the drone back out and it got to 1773.1 feet before I had to turn around when it started f*****g raining..;) Bl**dy British weather!   

Really happy with this purchase. Just remember to remove the protective film, it's very well put on ;)

Stupid question maybe but isn't the choice of 2.4G and 5.8G grayed out if you have an OTG cable? I thought that was just for the wifi video feed?

The spark does have impressive range.  Since I'm too conservative (chicken) to push any limits, I'll enjoy everyone else's efforts!

Holy cow, I guess they have perhaps overly crippled the range in the EU??

Way more crippled than Mavic Pro, which works ok in EU

3km at 100m altitude FCC mode no OTG cable wifi auto mode and ofcourse stock antenna.

What is the max distance with the normal controller?

Lol! I tried this, put some tape around the holes, almost added 55%-70% additional range performance for connectivity and video.

My question is about the spark controller, is the left and right antenna each dedicated separately to 2.4GHZ and 5.8Ghz. I’ve purchased a 2.4 and 5.8 sunhan amplifiers and want to make sure that I connect the two amplifiers to the correct corresponding antenna. Thanks

wow.. a bit overkill for spark right for 12-15min flight time

With a simple battery mod you can fly for easily 25-30 mins
