Do you guys also leave the grease sitting on top of the bearings? I figured it keeps the bearings well greased and prevents dust or dirt to get into the bearings. Plus it's easier to clean. What you all think?

Actually, the grease should be above the pinion under the rubber boot.
With it on the lower portion of the rack it will accumulate a lot of dust and pollen.

Oh really? I've been doing this way for a year now. I raise the landing gear and apply the grease to the lead screw. Then lower and raise the landing gear at least 4 times and I'm done. Should I just wipe the grease residue from the bottom of the lead screw above the bearings?

With the LG in the landing position, raise the boot up off the pinion. It is just slipped around the top of the pinion. Add the grease then slip boot back down.
I would clean off the rack. (Lead screw)

What about the bearing on the bottom of the lead screw?

Raising the landing gear and cleaning the lead screw and bearings with WD40. Then applying the grease under the boot like you mentioned.

One last thing... Am I suppose to wipe off the WD40 on the lead screw and bearings? I just left it as is after I wiped the lead screw with WD40.

It won't hurt to leave a little on the lead screw.

I actually like this method better... I just applied a fair amount under the boot. Used a tooth pick to apply it on the threads. I noticed some brownish grease under the boot. Maybe from DJI? I sealed the boot... Cleaned up around it and transformed the legs a few times. Didn't notice any grease on the lead screw after. Pretty cool. What about the bearings though? I cleaned it with WD 40. Do I need to do anything with the bearings?

Don't you afraid WD40 will loose screws?

DJI recommends using WD40 in the Inspire 1 maintenance manual. So I assume it's safe. It's not like I'm soaking the area with WD40. I spray it on a cloth and wipe the screw and bearings area.

Here is the manual: https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/ ... _ManualV1.0_en.pdf. As you can see, it says "Check  the  lead  screws  and  contact  DJI  Support  to  arrange  repairs  if  any  bending  or  damage  is  discovered. Clean the lead screws with WD-40 spray if they show signs of rust." So WD40 is safe to use.

The grease I use Tri Flow Synthetic grease

Any advice for the bearings at the bottom of the lead screw? Should I leave it as is after wiping the lead screw and bearings down with WD40?

Hi guys, i am sure you are more expert than me and you can help me..

My Inspire 1 V1 it doesn't enter in travel mode. I have already tried by toggling the transformation switch on the remote control and by the DJI GO app as well but the result is always the same, once the aircraft has  riched the lowest position it automatically rise up. Obviously i position the aircraft in a flat surface and i remove the gimball before operating.
I have read on the app the following message: "If the aircraft does not enter travel mode properly, USE MANUAL ADJUST". What does it mean manual adjust, and how to perform it? I haven't found anything about that.

Please avoid putting the aircraft on a surface which absorbs ultrasonic wave. The surface must have clear  patterns or texture.

Thanks a lot for your advise, but I have already tried on many different kind of surface and colors. Wood, tile, marble bed sheet etc..
