Hi!

I got my Spark yesterday, had it in the air today, used both combo pack batteries, bought (today) a third one.
After I emptied the Combo batteries from full to ~15% in 10-11 minutes, I used the charging hub.
One batt. startet charging, the other went from one green, one flashing green to "black"
The light of the hub went from green flashing to orange.
I got it charged by using the Drone.
Yesterday, for setting the drone up, everything was charging fine.
The one I bought today, I charged first time with the hub.
No problems.
The second time: "black" in the hub.
Also in the Drone, I had to use the hub adapter, to get it started.

Do I have to worry about brand new batteries?

Thanks

Seven

You know that the batteries will not charge if they are too hot?

I can assure you, from using it, to the charger at home, it was alone a 30 minutes ride.
I had temp in mind, minimum the first batt haven't been warmer as the surroundings.
Which's 27 Celsius, about.
The 3 one, I can't be sure 100%.
Can't recall, how long after usage I tried to charge it.
Will find out, 2morrow

Thanks for the hint!

Does it look like that, with the lights changes on batt and hub, in case the batts are to hot/warm?

When LED4 blinks three times per second ->Charging temperature is too high.

ya, make sure you update the battery firmware also if you need to.

DJI has tweaked the settings in the battery firmware to change thermal range and limitations as well as accuracy.    i find i cannot charge my battery on my spark if they are even slightly warm to the touch, they pretty much have to be completely cooled down, i dont know exact temperature range.  also a cooldown timer i think been added to the battery too, even if battery temp isn't hot it will still stop charging for x number of minutes.

Also the charging hub wont always charge all batteries at the same time. It charges the ones with least capacity first. Also yes make sure all batteries are updated with the new firmware.
Update the spark to the latest firmware with battery NR1 in it. change to battery NR2, rinse, repeat.

A little off topic, but I have noticed that my Spark does auto RTH when the batteries get down to 56%-59%.

In the GO app, I set battery warning at 20%, and the readouts for the (2) batteries show proper capacity left and charge cycles. No apparent issues with them.

Any ideas on how to test/fix? Would updating battery firmware help?

it depends on how far you have flown.. if it requires at least 30-40% of battery to get back to  you then yes.. it will start RTH process when either 50-60% of battery left...

No more than 750-800 feet distance at an alt. of maybe 200 ft.

The RTH usually takes < 45 secs. to complete once it starts.

Thanks for the informations.
Firtst: all 3 batts charged today all together in the batt hub.

And yesterday, one of my try to charge failed because of the temp.
I saw that led 4 blink quickly. (on video)

So I hope that was human failure.

Don't attempt to charge the battery if it is hot, e.g. charge it immediately after landing the drone. Please leave it for a while and cool it down first.

Thanks DJI Thor,  but I do not think that this could be a problem, right now.
"My" flightarea is about 20 minutes away, making it minimum 30 minutes from touch down to my batterie charger.
That should cool 'em down enough, don't you think?

Anyway, no new problems to report, right now.
Thanks again
