The question is not foccused on the brand of deices, but: Do you consider important to fly with a dedicated device?
Do you consider it can protect your flyght from crashes and bugs?
Feel free to share your opinions with us.
And thanks for sharing it.

I use an Android Tablet, that is being used for everything else as well, and more often, a dedicated Android phone. The phone is off network, off wi-fi, off everything. It was completely wiped clean, and just Litchi and DJI Go installed on it. The phone works perfectly
I would have got a Crystal Sky, if I could stay on an older DJI Go 4 version and off their data collecting.

I use my personal phone (iPhone6 originally, now an iPhone7) most of the time. This is not dedicated to DJI Go4. I just recently bought an iPad mini4 with the main purpose being to fly but it's not dedicated just to that but that was the reason for the purchase.   Not clear how that fits into the survey, I checked  apple phone, not dedicated. I also fly with the goggles and when I do that the phone or table is not really important since the main flying is via RC and goggles.

Just yesterday the DJI Go 4 app closed without any error message on my iPad Air 2 which is not dedicated for flying. I'm not afraid of crashing during RTH, but having a stable device can certainly provide more joyful experience.

Not too sure - I'm not getting this behavior.

When I boot up the App, it shows the map fine.

Having tried various Android phones and tablets with variable success and mostly crashing and erratic behaviour, I bought a dedicated iPad Mini 4 (with cellular in my case as I also have no fly zones and such updated regularly wherever I am).

Haven't had any issues since then with the DJI Go 4 app.

iPhone 7 and iPad Mini 2, the latter of which was stolen from work. Thought I might prefer the iPad, but for me the screen's larger size doesn't compensate for its unwieldiness, and it's no brighter than my iPhone 7, so I'll likely leave it at home going forward.

I use my regular phone galaxy s7. Previous to the djigo4 app i had no issues.  Since the djigo4 app i usually have 1 app crash every other flight. But since the most recent update my phone keeps flagging the app as a virus and tells me to uninstall... anyone else have this issue.?

I use Android Phone Samsung S7, with phone settings changed to Display > Mode:  Basic; Display > Resolution 1920 x 1080 and usually I turn off wifi and blu tooth.  After the last release and a recent update to Android OS ver 7+ it has worked pretty much flawlessly.  On my wife's Samsung Galaxy tablet S2 it has been flawless.  The higher display mode and higher resolution settings require more power (ie. Processing) and Samsung warns that those settings may not be compatible with some apps.  Just got my Goggles and if you need for glasses for near vision, you need READING glasses to see the goggles display clearly as the focal length is fairly short.

Which of the several Samsung Tablets?  Samsung 10 inch S2 works fine.  My Samsung older 8 inch Tab A would not even connect, and the 9.7 inch Samsung S had really bad delays in video (meaning it could not process well enough).   On my Samsung S7 phone, once I changed the phone settings Display > Mode to Basic and Display > Resolution to 1920 x 1080 it has been really good.  I also turn off wifi and blu tooth.

I have Samsung S7 and since last Android OS update a few weeks ago, I have had no disconnects.  I run it with DISPLAY > Mode:  Basic and Display > Rsolution:  1920 x 1080.  I also disable wifi and blu tooth.  Working fine.  Turning from fancy mode and lowering resolution frees up processing and extends battery power due to reduced processing.

How do you disable phone charging?

Phone must be rooted (easily done) and my custom shell scripts to trigger disabling the USB charging + auto launching the DJI Go 4 app. Another way is to download similar USB charging disabler from the play store but the phone must be rooted.

Dedicated android tablet, finally found a great 7" tablet that has no lag, no dropouts & has worked like a rock since I began using it 2 weeks ago!!
I also tried my Nividia shield, which works super well, as long as you stay on marshmellow!
but shield is dedicated to my P3A, & I found phone screen size just to small for comfortable viewing.
Acer iconia has given me no trouble whatsoever.

Which 7" android tablet is that maybe I can score 1 ?
I'm using my Samsung phone J7 AOS 601 and a LG G Pad X8 same OS as phone w/ no problem @ all.
The only issue I have w/ the LG Pad is too wide for the RC (8.5" Wide) so I need to use a mount.
Other than that I'm a happy camper.

Considering buying a dedicated Ipad mini would the internal storage  (GB) of the mini come into play in any way if it had no other use than to be used as a screen to use for a drone?

I did exactly the same thing. Samsung was a full size tablet and it felt a little large. iPad mini fits and works perfectly.

Dear @boatboatboat ,

My prior question is sustained exactly as some dev’s say and suggest that you “must” have a dedicated hardware to run a complex app as DJIGO4.
And I guess that when you manage to do this, internal storage will not be the “bad guy”!
Cheers.
