Hey, Mavic pilots, and all other pilots. I just worked up a preflight checklist specific to flying the Mavic and I wanted to share it with you all. What do you guys think? Are there any steps you would add/omit? why? Feel free to use this for yourself.

9, 10 & 11 are in a different order from what DJI recommend. They recommend 10, 11 & 9.
For 16, do you mean home point?

Maybe add checks for correct RTH heights and methods? If that is not what you meant in #16.

Maybe add checks for battery low levels and what happens etc.

Thanks for the info. I can change it around. Step 9 was in reference to launching the app from my device's home screen, not tapping  "enter device" within the app, which would come after step 11. And yes 16 is home point settings.

Very nice! I really like the take off operations checks before just flying off with it.

Very thorough! I will add a few of these steps to mine. What kind of commercial work are you doing? It seems dangerous to need a fire gloves and an extinguisher!

I am flying a matrice, just doing wind turbine surveying, fire gloves are really for safety against likelihood of ground around aircraft where there might be a risk of dry grass etc catching fire, I have to carry them as part of my kit but have never had to use them, except to take the Turkey out of the oven. Lol

This is my checklist:

DAY BEFORE FLYING

I've noticed many people recommend to start recording before take off. Why is that?

So they just record the entire flight? That's a full SD card every flight! I would go insane trying to sift through that footage.

Jpeg so you don't have to download the PDF if you don't want.

You forgot to mention that the pilot must be perfectly sober, i.e. only water, tea or coffee are permitted, but alcohol is absolutely out of the question!
