You can fly phantom in 40/50 kph remember although it has bigger engines it also has bigger body, so it's always a risk if you get sudden gusts, I did a test in 35 kph winds hovering, spark moved almost 2 metres from its hovering point after 10 seconds, Mavic about a metre P4Pro was not more than a couple of inches, while they all manage flying the wind really well, gusting winds can be a problem.
This was what I found in Lanzarote. I have been a few times before so knew what the wind would be like. I didn't want to lug my P4P around so took the Spark. Drained batteries like a hungry hippo so mainly just kept it low level in sport mode and blasted it round like road runner. Tend not to fly if it's above 20mph though as just not worth the risk of a blow away and crash. |
