I can't seem to get through a "Gimbal Calibration".  Progress stops at 50% on my P4P.  I used a level and performed IMU calibration.  All good there.  But have since tried 5 times with Gimbal calibration and it always stops at 50%.  I have the latest FW.....not calling for FW update.  Also, unistalled and reinstalled DJI Go 4 app (on iPad Air 2).  What else is there to try?

Mine did the exact same thing, stopping at 50%.

Hi- I had this problem too.

Spoke to DJI CS agent, and they asked that I try the IMU calibration once more, which I did - taking my time.  Think - if I recall correctly - that I turned power off to the drone, controller and DJI Go4 App.  I then restarted all.

I then proceeded with the gimbal calibration, and done.

I also have a buzz and noise in the cardan, the rear part was also heated. After a while, the inscription gimbal motor overloaded appeared and the cardan of the camera did not stabilize horizontally.

I am having this problem again after updating to the beta firmware, which fixed it, but now it's back to stopping at 50% and the gimbal is making noises just sitting there idle.

Why did you go and mess up a perfectly working drone with your firmware?   Why did the beta fix it and now it's stopped at 50% once again?


The gimbal is constantly working while just sitting on my desk and it's getting very hot.

Don't tell me to send it in again when you know it's the firmware causing these issues and worked perfect before the latest 'official' firmware release.

Hi susan i am having a very similar problem with my mavic pro, it will calibrate up to 31% then it says the calibration failed to make sure I have it on a flat surface and its always on a flat surface. I don't know what to do cause I haven't crashed my drone or done anything to that should have caused any problems

Thanks for reaching us. Just to verify, is there any error message in APP? If not, please try to connect with DJI Assistant 2 and refresh the firmware successfully, then calibrate the gimbal camera to see whether it helps.

Hello, I intalled the latest firmware and the gimbal recallibration still gets stuch in 51%. Additionally the camara shakes a lot why I fly against the wind with inclination 0 degress

Is there any fix coming up for these issues ?. Thanks

My Mavic Air is stuck at 10%.  The Gimbal moves around, the auto iso(?) numbers change but the calibration never completes.  The last test I did I let it run until the battery died.

I also have this issue. only just recently that it stalls on 50% and you need to retry a few times to get it to calibrate fully.

Seems to me that DJI has a major problem with Gimbals overheating and just don't want to acknowledge this as it will be a financial liability for them. My Mavic Pro has had this happen 3 times!!!! I'm so frustrated. I can't afford $150/hour repair fees. DJI needs to step up and honor their products and designs.

Hi there, the gimbal issue on Phantom 4 Pro has been resolved in the latest firmware, please update the firmware and calibrate again, if the issue persists, you may need to send the drone back for diagnosis and service.

Oh it seems that DJI only support their latest drone's, does not matter how many $$$$ you spend, they just try to sell newest release
