When I plug my phone into my remote for the Mavic and fly with the googles, I'm in regular mode.    When I try to fly with the goggles and just the controller I'm stuck in beginner mode.   Is there any way to turn off beginner mode when it comes to just using the goggles and the remote but no phone?

Just to verify, did you get the prompt that showed you were in Beginner Mode or you get the 30 meters height limitation? If it is the second case, you need to connect your mobile device and connect all the devices together, then you can unplug the mobile device and the limitation will disappear.
