Any recommendation for suitable tablet or smartphone for our Spark? Im considering in purchasing a sole device/screen for the Spark so i wouldn't be bothered in using my personal phone.

I'm trying to find something with an awesome screen in sunlight.  Crystalsky appears to bulky (even the small one) and the spark is not listed on supported devices.  Ideally it would be a "reflective" screen so that the more sunlight the better the screen (for me).  Otherwise a bright enough screen would be fine.

I have seen various covers one can buy, and even bought one.  But it's too cumbersome to try and get everything ready, particularly when one is after a shot that is time sensitive.

Most of the suggestion points heavily towards Ipad Mini 4 or any other Apple product and yes i agree Crystalsky is bulky and even if its supported by Spark its a bit overkill though imo.

I have an iPad 4 mini.  It seems fast and there are many mounts and shades available.  I found mine on the Apple refurb site.  Like new

Defo the Mini 4 with sunshade. Just the right size but kind of counter productive in regards to the portability stakes of the Spark. Use the Mini 4 with P4P and Spark but Spark now gone.

I am checking for Galaxy Tab A (2016), right now.
The brightness seems to be one of the best for the buck

Just purchased an IPad Mini 4 Wifi Model for 279.99 @ BestBuy today. Pretty awesome and a worthy update from my iPhone 6S Plus as far as screen size alone.

From the brightness, the Tab A 10.1 seems to be a good choice (500+)

In other places I've heard that the ipad mini has issues in sunlight (much like everything else.  It also looks like the Galaxy Tab A (small version) is still too big to fit in the "cradle", and some kind of cradle extension would be required.

Apple devices run DJI GO much better, DJI is kinda supported by Apple as you can buy DJI products in the Apple Store, DJI GO just does not run very well on android

yaaa, but i like, p.ex., the option of offline maps.
I think every platform has its advantages.
And I am used to android.
Also its not running so bad on my androids.
Seems to be more a problem of some models, for some functions, here.
Anyone has a sony tablet in use, Xperia 3 or 4 tab?

btw., Bradders: Nice profil picture you have!

Be careful with your choices and advice as most of these devices are region specific, what works in USA wont neceserily work in EU, AU, Aisa.
The thing you need to check is weather or not the device will operate on the 5G8 channels
I'm in the UK and so far haven't found any non Apple devices that give full suport

I use an iPad Pro 12,9" for all my dji drones (beside a iPhone 7+) when it is a planned usage of the drone. On vacation or trips I use only the phone. But when you know you will fly and take the iPad pro with you it is awesome.

That was the reason for asking.
It should even have better specs and is brighter and smaller as the Samsung A 10.1

yaa, I know about that.
But right now it looks like that the Tab A 10.1 2016 would be a world model, only wifi or +LTE would be the difference between 580 or 585, incl. 5 GHz wifi in both models.
The Sony was a world model too, if I remember that right.

In terms of smartphones to work with DJI Go 4, DJI state that "This app is optimized for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus". Does anybody know what that exactly means? I'm contemplating buying a smartphone to use with the SPARK remote controller (my old Android phone doesn't seem to work) and I'm unsure which one to purchase. Grateful for your recommendations!

Thanks, I've checked it already. I finally settled for a S7 edge because of the great reviews and reasonable price, and the fact that it's listed as compatible by DJI.
I'm just a bit worried because I've read that the compatibility of Android devices is not really guaranteed when the OS gets updated, but I guess it's as safe a bet as any Android device.
Apple products may be the safest option for the SPARK, but I'm just not ready to spend money on an overpriced iPhone. I would hope that DJI at least ensure compatibility of their app with widespread and recent devices such as the S7 edge. We'll see!

we share the same sentiment regarding apple products. i wouldn't spend that much for a dedicated screen.

Hey, this list may be of some use to you, it goes over some of the best options for both Android and Apple. I use my samsung S8 phone and iPad mini 4 to pilot my drones and they both work fine. From what i can tell, the iPad mini 4 seems to be a very popular option.

I bought a Nuvision Solo 8 from Sams Club. It's running Nougat. It's not the fastest in the world, but I bought it specifically for my Spark. It was less than $100. Doesn't add much weight to the controller and that's with a tablet holder as well.

It is a self designed 3D printing part.
The clamps of the RC will be extended to fit a big iPad Pro. On the top you can clip in a neckstrap.
Pretty simple, but the screen size is the best you can get

I don’t have a 3D printer so I’m looking at a Mavmount 3.0, but you are very creative! The iPad Pro has such a great display it would be a shame not to find a way to use it with the Spark.  Have you had any issues in bright sunlight?
