Are there any good resources for finding good locations to fly in your area?

I live in downtown Chicago and finding good places to fly can be challenging...just curious if there are any community sites or other resoruces that people use to find good sites - ideally with feedback from other people that have flown there before.

I look on google maps in satellite view and spot interesting open spaces, lakes and very large car parks.
