I know I can't point the camera up at the sun but I'm going to have my P3S up with video going. Luckily I live were I'm going to be able to see the Eclipse so I'm going to hopefully capture how dark it's going to get at 2:30 p.m.

I'm planning to put mine up to get a view of the 360 degree sunset.  I will be positioned directly under the center of the path of totality, very near the point of the longest Eclipse.  I will have 2 min and 39.9 seconds of totality. My plan is to put it up about 10 min before totality and slowly rotate with video rolling.  

Yes, slow rotation will be nice. I'm not sure what to do with mine yet. Good luck hope we get some good footage

Is there a filter needed for the camera? I am outside Nashville, TN, we should have a good view. I really want to try filming, don't want to mess up my cam.

I cannot look directly at the sun because it is straight up so I just got my darkest filter on, hope it's not too dark when it's completely covered
