I have set my Return-to-Home altitude to 40 meters in DJI GO 4, but mysteriously this value is changed to 20 m every now and then - no, not by me!
I suspect that one or more modes of the Intelligent Flight Modes is causing this error.
Yesterday afternoon at one moment I had been flying the Mavic in Point-of-Interest mode and later switched to normal P-Mode.
At one point the low battery procedure set in with automatic RTH and the Mavic was then still in P-Mode.
To my horror I realized that the Mavic did not rise to 40 m, but only to 20 m and on its flight home it just narrowly missed a tree.
I checked the RTH altitude in DJI GO 4 and it was indeed set to 20m!

What could be causing this mysterious modification to my preset RTH altitude?
Yet another remaining bug in DJI GO 4 or what?
DJI GO 4 version used is 4.1.5. and firmware is .0900.

Anyway, this is one more item I have to add to my pre-flight checklist or possibly even to my in-flight checklist...

I recalled seeing this too once, same Android app 4.1.5 same .900 firmware . Not sure how was I flying in between fly modes but manual RTH doesn't accent to the preset 50m altitude (confirmed in the app again it's 50m). Since the path is clear I just let it be think it was 20-30m.

It's not the first time that this problem occurred, but when it happens, RTH altitude is always 20 m in my case, the smallest value of RTH altitude available in the DJI GO 4 app.

If you have a similar problem, could you please check at what moment this occurs?

I made a big mistake.
Blame it on age, teeny weeny print in POI and weaker eyesight.

Aha!
Then please take a look at the tiny print on the POI page, where it says Return-to-Home altitude, because that is where I went wrong.
I had difficulties reading those tiny tiny tiny letters,
