Hey guys I am interested in finding out what your preferences are for aerial filming when using Go Pros.   I am really interested in the go pro settings and the lenses that people may use to help with videoing from an aerial perspective.  There is a company called http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/ which makes lenses weighing 7 grams for cameras not in the protective houses.

I don't know if the H3-3D gimbal will be able to handle the extra weight of the lens added to the camera.  I have been using the 720 60p setting but am thinking 1080 30p in medium view will be good if im not concern about slow motion.  I have been researching about Circular Polarize filters and ND Filters and they both have their place in the photography world.  I am interested in filming nice sunrises , sunsets, waterfalls, and a lot of nature scenes along with man made infrastructures.  I am currently using a Go Pro Hero 3+ but I will be using a Hero 4 Silver here soon. I would love to hear the setup you guys use for your go pros and I am all for tips and advice.  Thanks a bunch

Just know the weight of the extra lens you will use and attach a corresponding weight on the back of the camera for balance.  The gimbal and motor won't even know it's there.

Polar Pro lenses are about 7 grams and they make them exactly for that purpose - so I assume that's not too much weight with the GP and Gimbals.

I use this filter:

On my h3-3d i velcroed on a nickel to the back to counterbalance it and help remove jello.  On my new bird with the h4-3d i have not had to add the nickel yet but will do so if necessary.
