Is there an indoor height limit at the Spark?

I have flown in a high church, unfortunately there was about 8 m height the message  "limit reached" and i couldnt fly higher,

But I have to fly about 16-20 m high,

is it possible to override the limit somehow?

Hi, as far as I know the only limit other than your country's maximum height limit is one you set in the DJI4 go app. Check to make sure you didn't accidentally change it.

When you are flying without gps only in opti mode there is a height limit.

That might be a bummer.
Why would they have that?

Make sure that you are not in beginner mode or the height limit will be restricted

I was not in beginners mode and the outdoor limit was 100m,

I tried also to start from the balcony at the second floor,

Starting and ascend on the balcony was correct,
but when flying outside the balcony the Spark descended automatically to 6-8m above the lower floor,

Indoor was no Gps,
so I think, there is a limit at that height where the bottom sensors are working???

That might be the logic. No GPS = rely on bottom sensors = limiting height?

There is no GPS indoor, so the VPS will work. If you need to fly about 16-20 meters high, you may consider to disable the VPS, then the drone will enter ATTI mode. It requires high flying skills, I would recommend you to practice it in the outdoor first.

Good suggestion, would the absence of wind make ATTI flying more simple?

It's impossible to fly in ATTI outdoors because we can't switch to ATTI mode on Spark((( So we can only turn off VPS and fly indoors but not higher than 30m...

I had the same thought.  But I'm glad there is a max height when flying indoors or in ATTI mode.

there might not be wind, but might be a fan running or wind from A/C?

Beautiful!
Maybe you can slow down on the pan's a bit. Not sure if you speed them up in post or just had fast motion with your Spark

sorry  for the late replay

the indoor flight and the video are  only tests and the video is not ready at all,
the video shows the real speed, you are right ,
the pans are too fast - it was really exciting or fly there :-)

That might be a bummer.
Why would they have that?

Spark without gps indoors or outdoors is limited to 16ft as a precautionary measure, yes Atti mode without wind is somewhat easier to manage, but indoors gives you a much tighter space to work in and once you start moving spark you will continually need to be pushing sticks to control it , once you start creating propulsion you have to control this, you cannot disable VPS , so best option for flying indoors is perfect light good textured flooring fly in opti mode gps if you have it or if Aircraft goes between opti and gps . Set RTH to land or suitable height for environment this is crucial

There is a max height when flying without gps indoors or outdoors, this is a precautionary measure, if you are flying indoors and have gps there is no height limit, when flying indoors always remember to set RTH to land or set height to whatever suits the environment you are flying in.

Yes, it will require lots of practicing and common sense I guess.

Sorry, my fault, I just forget we are talking of Spark. The Phantom series and Mavic are available to disable the downward VPS.

Nevertheless this video demonstrates that the Spark can be a very useful tool for architects, contruction workers, renovators etc. Thus the ability to switch off VPS also on the Spark might be a future feature to be considered by DJI.

The possibility to switch off vps would be very useful for indoor inspections

I've flown in a couple of churches to get photographs that would be difficult even with a ladder.
Looking at the stained glass windows and other such decorations that are 10m or more up, or I will be when I figure out how to get it to overcome it's fear of heights.
