Flying today on my second battery I tried to get some video of the spark flying low upstream above the bayou, and ran into the "maximum distance" bug. at 161ft the AC stopped and i got a message "maximum flight distance reached"  I had the maximum flight distance turned off in the Go4 app.  I turned maximum flight distance on, still set to the 5000M that I had it on before.  tried again, and it still slowed and stopped at 161ft.  I brought it back again a third time, turned it off and back on, and was able to fly normally again.  the only indication that anything was off was that it played the startup sound twice when i turned it on, and instead of saying ATTI mode while searching for GPS, it showed "IMU initialising" which i have not seen before.  


I'm downloading footage from today right now, i can upload flight logs later today or tomorrow if needed.  

in my opinion there is no "max distance" bug...

Yes, I had already updated the NFZ info almost a week ago.  Like I said, once I restarted the AC, I was able to fly as far away as I wanted again.  

Here is a screenshot from the flight player.  I had "enable maximum flight distance" disabled in the app.  I enabled max flight distance and set it to 5000m and nothing changed.  after restarting the AC i was able to fly beyond 160ft again.

Had this happen today as well. Updated all firmware on the Spark and Battery by Assistant on my Mac prior to departing and did phone to RC for that update.

1st battery continued to pop up a Max Flight Distance even after landing and rebooting. Put in the second battery and it didn't happen.

Yup, same here. Not sure if it's related but I also couldn't get the panorama mode to work. However, signing out, deleting Dji Go 4 and reinstalling appears to have solved all issues.

Same issue with two batteries yesterday. Restarting didn’t help, tried changing the max flight distance that didn’t change anything. Almost feels like the drone is permanently stuck in beginner mode.

Still the same issue.... firmware bug???

I had something similar. After doing Active track while on my bike i´ve gone to the magical 100meter mark where i got the message "Maximim Flight Distance reached". After switching to manual mode it was
still there. I could not go further. I had to set a new homepoint on the smartphone and then it was gone and i was able go further again!

reinstallation helps!

same problem two day ago... i turn off AC RC and reboot app,work fine after take off

Same thing happened to me yesterday, first 3 batteries after FW upgrade were flawless then the next 2 I had height limitations.  Some guy on the other thread said all he did was shut off app and turn it back on again.  On my way out to try this out and I will update in a bit.

UPDATE:
I just flew a battery and it immediately gave me a height limit of 98' again and all I did was closed the app and re-opened it and limit went away.

I had it happen to me yesterday, i landed and restarted AC and RC and it seems like that fixed for now.

I would recommend you restart the APP after you swapped the battery, then the drone will not be restricted.

Its already reported to dji engineers and hopefully will be fixed with next fw

Happened to me as well with latest FW yesterday. New battery, app freshly started and the drone climbed only 30 metres and then the message max reached. Landed, restarted drone, RC and app and was good again. Clearly SW bug in latest FW.

Hopefully Dji comes up with another update for this issue. I'm having the same issue with the height limits.

Saw this over the weekend as well. Had to land the AC, shut down and restart AC, RC and the app. Worked fine after that.

Same issue for me. After modifying RTH position I got max high 30m and max distance 30m.

Restart the drone did solve the issue.

I too had this happen the other day. First battery flew great, flew way out and around a water tower, came back and swapped batteries and was then limited to the 160ish feet distance.

I have found somewhere that we have to connect to our DJI account to remove the limitation !

I had the problem with the P4Pro today and doing that it worked again.

Same problem on the Spark

If it is not a bug think that it is not acceptable that DJI put some limitation like that ...

I had the problem with the P4Pro today and doing that it worked again.

I am logged into my account, and the first battery just mins before flew fine.

No signing out and in doesnt help, message maximums will
appear again. Only close down app and restart app helps. Its a bug , dji apparantly is working on
