So I have just been reading the manual and it was interesting to note the the aircraft will switch from P to ATTI mode i neither GPS or Vision System are avalible.

I have always had good GPS signal local to where I am, so my main question is, will the spark still fly as it does in the daytime after dark, with just the GPS and secondly, how easy is the Spark to fly in ATTI mode should it switch modes,

Really want to try a long exposure from the air, but I'm having the same fear of flying in the dark as I do over water.

I've flown at night, Spark behaved the same as during the day, connected to around the same number of satellites (18), never left GPS mode.  Flew for about 12 minutes, covered about 8,000 feet before landing.

Be vigilant when flying the drone in this situation, do not fly it too close to the water.

Thank you for that. That was what I was reading. I'm still not comfortable trying the drone over the water, just along side it.

Feel you, I fly my drone more than 20 meters high if I have to fly it over water.

Great work, I tried it the other night. The plus point about flying it in the dark, is I find its easier to spot

I'd like to see how Spark handles longer exposures

Here's a test from me. I think it's decent, but do not get spark for a dslr or something
It does has a gimball, but still, it is a high vibration device. And high vibrations plus long exposure does not get all along that well

Thanks for the information about flying at night you all.  I will try it later this week and post my pic/video of my experience.

I think DJI have to add a new night photo mode in which Spark will take multiple shots and when combine them. But for now we can make it in Photoshop. 2sec exposure is near to useless for now (

That is the magic of the gimbal and stabilization algorithm controlling the motor's.
It is quite stable as you see.

At night my Spark drift at low altitude (VPS dont work in low light) and i assume at higher too  , long exposure are blurry  (2s) but this was expected .

nothing to worry at night but the low visibility
