1. I can use the props on my mavic pro 2. Its improvements do not cause me to regret having bought the mavic pro.


ps - i am impressed how well dji can keep a secret - had no idea there were new launches were about to happen and then boom, theres two of them.

I am pleased the Mavic line is getting new members.  DJI keeps making things better.  (Nice about the props too!)

Like that they're both compatible re: batteries and props.

is it the battery that gives extended fly time or is it the improved motor input that improves fly time?

From what I have read so far its a combination of ESC tuning and Prop design.

I believe so as the batteries are interchangeable. New Craze - Be the first to have a 2 tone Mavic !!!

It's good DJI isn't trying to gouge by changing everything just to make you buy a new model; being able to incrementally upgrade is a much better pathway, and keeps current users happy as well, as what you buy now will not be outdated in a few weeks.

i agree!   i think the mavic pro is the essence of the limits of technical engineering...  just thinking of it is nuts.. has tons of redundancies, fully stabilized 4K camera capable of shooting in cinema 4K with tons of different color profiles, tons of manual controls, dual controller support (slave/master controls), dual screen support with occusync,  insane range, capable of both wifi and occusync,  nearly 30 minutes of runtime, 40 mph, it has almost all of DJi's software innovations running on it, etc etc.  in all in a folding design you can toss in a small bag and take anywhere..

For what I read it is the motor and the prop's.

It'll be interesting to see whether the props for the Platinum has any real effect on the original Pro.

the thrill for me will be to participate in the next step in the evolution of rotor blades - i am not expecting too much 'real change'.
the sound from the props neads to come down quite a bit to make a 'real change' for me - perhaps it will be a bit softer - looking forward to finding out.

I think that the release of a model that is compatible with an earlier one is a proof that the company is responsible with its consumers.

Yes, disappointed that it's the same mAh battery. Phantom 4 Pro had a battery upgrade, so I'm guessing this form factor is maxed for now.
