Most companies are smart enough to make us "stupid consumers" agree to no class action without us even knowing. Or in most cases, no litigation at all, for that matter. (At least in the United States.)

But that still doesn't mean that we have been misled and swindled as a consumer. I bought a high-end consumer product for thousands of dollars that has since been destroyed by DJI firmware updates. And aside from the fact that I still have physical ownership of the DJI equipment, I find this to be no different than grand theft, in the case of our aircraft having been "failwared" and completely worthless at this point. Not even close to what it was when we purchased it.

All of this happening at DJI's persistent "update firmware" messages. I guess from their perspective, it was our stupid decision to upgrade.

Please keep us posted on how things go. I sure hope you can get your money back.

Maplins UK. Have taken back the drone after a 40 minute discussion with the manager. They have sent my P4 of to their tech team,  who I'm advised may send it back to DJI. I have advised I do NOT want a refurd device in replacement. It's a full refund or a like for like new one......Im advised I should hear back from them in 2 weeks. Just so you guys know my drone was purchased in December 2016, So is still under warranty. When I get an update I'll let you know.

Update. Maplins text me today to say my drone has a critical issue and is being sent back to DJI. There was me thinking it was a firmware issue ! ......time will tell.

If the drone has been sent back to DJI by Maplins, there should be a case number, you can get it from them. But I believe your dealer will take care of it for you.

Its back...I have my drone back from DJI. Engineers reports shown faulty rc. They also for some reason replaced the charger. Test have been done to 120m height and 500m distance. Just need this storm in the UK to pass over for a test flight. It's been 14 weeks grounded since the firmware update so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
