Is there a way to fly forward and up at a constant speed?

I just want to do a simple shot of moving a drone forward and then slowly rise up.

If I use the sticks, the speed won't be constant. The sticks are so loose.

If I use waypoints, it's really hard to gauge the exact rise using altitude values.

Is there a better way to do this?

Try pushing the control sticks near the base with the tip of your thumb, with the bottom of your thumb resting on the controller. I've found that makes it a little easier to maintain a more constant velocity.

Intelligent flight mode "Tap Fly" should be your choice.
Ascend linear. Choose speed and angle beforehand.

In fact I'm going to try that myself tomorrow.

You  could lengthen the RC sticks for more precise control too. ;-)

I see you have a P4 and a MP. Use TapFly and tap in the direction on the screen you want to fly in, set the speed, and it will maintain that speed and fly in that direction.
