What frame rates would you guys like to see in the next firmware update?  I'm sure it's coming but maybe there are some that are a higher priority than others. Given that 30fps is the default I assume there is a bandwidth issue and higher frame rates aren't an option

Personally I want to see 24fps for cinematic use.

I'd be happy if they fixed how the files were saved so that iMovie could correctly recognize the frame rate.

The lack of 25fps is holding me back buying one.
I want to be able to combine footage from the Spark with my other camera's (filming 25 or 50 fps) and right now it just does not work...

I think the more people respond to this the more DJI will pay attention and possibly add these frame rates to future firmware updates

ok, sorry for my ignorance.

How is 25fps better than 30fps?  not sure I understand the difference.

25fps is needed in the UK and Europe. It's to do with us using 240v electricity. Our lights operate at a certain frequency so video frame rate need to match it, otherwise you get flickering.

And, on top of that, if you have other camera's shooting at PAL standard (my Panasonic is locked at 25 or 50 fps) you can't combine it with Spark footage. It will give very bad hiccups in the motion.

When I first heard of the frame rate to electricity cycle ratio my mind was blown. Then a friend told me about the frame rate to shutter speed rule and it all made sense to me. Although I now hate the fact that there is no option for 1/48 shutter speed option on any camera I could afford for cinematic frame rates lol

A 25fps framerate would be badly needed in Europe. As Montfrooij wrote, the quality really suffers when combined with other 25fps material from camcorders, etc.

If you are shooting 24fps: yes!

Hi folks,

I also suffer from the missing 25fps option. I was looking for ways to render the 30fps material coming from the Spark to 25fps without stuttering in order to merge it with other footage coming from my Camcorder.
After trying all sorts of programs I tried DaVinci Resolve - and it worked !! While the result may not be absolutely perfect, it definitely looks good enough for me. Resolve has an option called "Optical Flow" which eliminates the stuttering in the converted footage. Best of all, Resolve is a free download.

So, for everyone waiting patiently for DJi to come up with a proper firmware upgrade, I would recommend this way in the meantime.

I think a 25fps would amazing.
Maybe DJI can put in a 720p@60 or even 120fps for slow motion shots!

Anyone have a work around for iMovie frame rate issue?

YES!!! download "Handbrake" for free and just batch process all your videos before importing to iMovie or FinalCut. You have to convert Spark's 29.98 variable fps to 29.97 constant fps. Your edited videos will look as smooth as the raw footage before you import. Here is a link that explains how it works. Good luck!
