This is an expensive product and I worked a side job to pay for it and now it doesnt function like it should all because I was forced to upgrade the firmware.

I think that an explanation would be kind and helpful. All of the people on this forum seem to support the company you work for and its a matter of respect, kindness and courtesy to supply an explanation for how this could have happened.

I think flight stability issues are much more difficult to pinpoint as it's not affecting everybody and should it be THIS widespread we would have hundreds of reports and incidents as a result and a global rollback might prove more difficult to execute.

They are clearly working on a fix judging from the beta releases but unless they can pinpoint the exact root cause causing this to the ones affected, it may take some time.

A bug reproduction is key to any QA analysis and if DJI struggles to repro the issue, this clearly impacts the fix delivery time. It's not like every P4 is affected  so trying to fix these might break the others etc...

Hello Forum,

To carry on with his thread and for some feedback to DJI, I have now completed roughly 3 hours of flying without a single occurrence of the camera turning off or the gimbal losing power.

I concur. After my second batch of testing, I have not experienced the 4K camera issue. All other flight controls remain stable, and are (thankfully) unaffected by the firmware update of July.

Does DJI require any information other than this type of confirmation regarding the stable beta?

What about the instability and jerkynes that I get when I to a stop in mid air.Are you trying to fix that.

I had informed the engineers to release the beta, please check your account later. It needs the internet to access it, you can update it either on DJI GO 4 or DJI Assistant 2.

I think the point that everyone is missing...I mean maybe many of you have a bias towards this company, but no company, not a chinese company or an American company should force an update and damage property. Essentially DJI damaged our purchased property. It has been damaged for months. They have done this in the past and continue to do so. If people complain that the product is damaged because of their forced software update then they should replace the product immediately.  This is absolutely ridiculous. Talking on the forums, trying to figure out how to fix it, wasting everyone's time. If DJI broke it they should fix it and everyone should be able to move on. BOTTOM line is that this is a dishonest, sketchy beast of a company that clearly has no respect for their customers or even other companies. (They aggressively like to sue competitors). Classic, dirty, unethical business practices.

They certainly deserve to get sued and I certainly hope it happens.

Just tried beta 300, with latest assistant. Gives me option to downgrade back to 602. Beta 300 is a lot better than the failware, it does decend a lot more stable but you can still hear the motors fighting and it still has a wobble. Camera seems to be fixed.

I just can approve that too. I had never problems with video, but strong shaking during the hover and heavily fluctuating engine noise. The P4 is now much quieter in the hoverfly but still has not the same stability as with the FW 01.02.106

For some that are affected, a reinstall of the 02.00.0106 has resolved or at least lessened the flight instability problem they had. Perhaps calibration of the VPS, IMU. RC may also help.

Then why are the flight characteristics different. Maybe it was aimed at fixing the camera but something is different between 106 and 300 so they have addressed additional problems in some respect.

To my understanding its something to do with the board in the gimbal. As the p4 was manufactured with 2 different versions and i believe 1 works and 1 doesn't work with the fw. The part isnt for sale you have to purchase another gimbal but i am not certain.

I have come back from my Singapore trip and I did around 8 hours of flying with my P4. Again i'm pleased to say that my camera did not reset once and I am still happy with the recent .0300 beta.
