Here a quick example of my question:

I have a clip taken with my Spark: 44 seconds = 143MB.
By creating an edited clip with DJI GO Editor feature without modification and by saving it I have 44 seconds and only 25MB.

By checking the resolution is still 1920x1080 for both.
What is the reason of this difference? Does Editor optimising the clip without loosing definition?

The DJI GO Editor is convenient on the go and encodes pretty fast but the quality is quite poor. Too bad DJI doesn't have a desktop app that could produce better quality clips.

Are you editing the video cache of DJI GO directly or the quality files download from SD card?

I am editing the original file: I firstly download through DJI GO the original file to my iPhone (not the cache), then I edit it. The output is still a 1920x1080 but is using much less memory storage, resulting in a lower quality. Any reason for that or planning for DJI app developer team to fix this issue?

What's the version of your DJI GO? Is it the AutoEdit or Create Moive? Also, please upload the two videos via Dropbox, I'll forward to our engineers for review.

It is 4.1.9 version.
Unfortunately I don't have anymore th original Clips and I am abroad now for work.
I'll do when I am back home.
However, by asking around to friends, this is happening to them as well, so I believe you could easily reproduce it.

I am writing to you with an update.

Just back in my country at home and surfing on my DJI GO 4 App (now 4.1.12) processed Clips on a FULL HD screen and noticing a remarkable degradation in resolution in processed Clips.

I managed to record with my Spark a short clip for you which I processed with DJI GO 4 and can send you both in original and processed format so as you can forward to your engineers for checking.

Basically the App doesn’t allow to keep the original resolution and this is a pity as it would be a very handy and nice app but this limitation is negatively affecting the results.
No setting is available to change the resolution of the output clip.

May I send the Dropbox link on a private msg to you?

The video edited in the app is saved with only 1280x720 resolution and around 10Mbit/s data rate. A "dji" watermark is placed in the lower right corner. It's also saved with variable frame rate as the original.

This is not quite correct. Alla DJI GO 4 edited clip are still 1920x1080. It looks they are just compressed therefore less resolution.

Sir, I just got the latest news from our engineers that they are aware of this and will fix it asap. Please follow the update of DJI GO 4. Sorry for the confusion.

This is good to know that the GO4 app saves the edited 'Original' images/videos in a much lower resolution.  I've been using Lightroom (images) and Final Cut Pro (video).
