I'm always forgetting one thing or another so I made myself a list pulling together the manual, some forum posts, and my own experiences. Forgive me if there is a better one out there, but this is what I came up with.

Packing List:
_ DJI Inspire (duh)
_ 2 black blades/2 gray blades
_ Charged battery
_ Charged controller
_ Memory card with plenty of space
_ 2x Camera filters (ND & Clear)
_ iPad & DJI Apps & iPad USB cord
_ (or) Android & DJI Apps & mini USB cord
_ Camera
_ Micro USB cable or USB micro SD reader

Pre-flight:
_ Check overhead in ALL DIRECTIONS
_ If temperature below 5 °C/41°F add battery insulators (allow time for equipment to acclimate to outside temperature)
_ Check Camera filter and install ND/clear (best shutter speed: 30fps=1/60, 24fps=1/48, etc.)
_ Attach iPad/Cable
_ Enable airplane mode on iPad
_ Enable airplane mode on phone
_ Verify flight mode P/A/F
_ Set landing gear switch down
_ Power on controller
_ Load DJI app
_ Verify map loaded
_ Turn off Wifi on iPad
_ Adjust antennas vertically
_ Turn Inspire ON (press power button once + press and hold)
_ Exit travel mode
_ Turn Inspire OFF (press power button once + press and hold)
_ Attach Camera and check memory
_ Inspect props
_ Attach props snuggly
_ Lock props
_ Inspect camera mounts
_ Inspire ON
_ Calibrate compass away from phones and large metal/magnetic objects
_ Test Gimbal - calibrate if necessary
_ Set failsafe altitude
_ Set "Return To Home" location (A/C or TX)
_ IMU calibration (.99 - 1.01)
_ Wait at least one minute after full GPS lock before takeoff
_ Power up rotors, allow one minute to warm up if below 5 °C/41°F
_ Select cleanest video channel
_ Take and view a picture

In-flight:
_ Hover 20 seconds at 15-25 feet (re-obtain gps lock)
_ Check that there is no drifting
_ Check all controls (up, down, strafe left, strafe right, rotate left, rotate right, forward, back)
_ Raise landing gear
_ Center/set camera follow mode, etc.
_ Check exposure
_ Start recording

Landing Checklist:
_ STOP recording
_ Turn Inspire Off
_ Detach camera
_ Detach props & locks
_ Turn Inspire On
_ Enter travel mode via app
_ Turn Inspire Off

Excellent checklist, Sam.  I've modified it for my own use by including my tablets and dual controllers in the mix as well as saving it as a numbered list in Word format.

Really good and solid list there Sam    I would however remove the props before the camera on your landing list for 2 reasons.   1. In case of an accidental motor start.   2. If you have to tilt the inspire backwards to give better access to, and unlock the Gimbal, you cannot catch or scuff the rear props on anything.
Just my 2pennys worth.

Excellent list Sam! I went a little different route with my checklists. I didn't write out setup or take-down, but went with a more traditional checklist style. I chose to put it on the web to to make it accessible to others, plus it has actual checkboxes. And then, I like that there are some links to useful weather sites and other important sites. http://www.dronefrontier.com/inspire1checklist/

After getting through a list that long you probably only have about 3 minutes of flying time :-)

Very usefull post. I would add checking the starting spot with a magnetic detector. There are many such apps for android and IOS devices.

Excellent Idea. I will look into that!

I only calibrate compass or take off in a spot where the values are between 42 - 52 uT.

"strafe left"  -- do you mean straight left?  what is "strafe" ?

I am going with the charger, too, because I can load batteries at my airstrip.

And I have to ask all pilots near me to set  their mobile phones into flight mode.
Meanwhile I do not use the list, these steps have become a routine.

First flights I have looked at my list in "Notizen"-App from Google.
