Can anyone explain Max Flight distance?

In DJI Go app you can switch button to enable max flight distance. However, on the line below is says set Max Flight distance (15m-500m). Does this mean the max distance I can fly away from the home point is 500m??

If I turn off max Flight distance does this mean I can fly in excess if 500m?

Appreciate a steer on this please :-)

Yes, under settings you can adjust your "max" distance.  I set mine to about 2000m because in my city I start losing reception at about 1800.

Yes, you can disable the max flight distance to get farther distance.

To me it seem that you mix up max distance with max altitude (height).

The altitude can be set to max 500m.

Thanks! I tried this in my setting controller, but today Max distance warning after 50m and a max altitude waring at 30m.  Not sure why...

I curently have my max flight altitude at 120m and max flight distance at 500m but still get max warnings at 50m distance and 30m height. I cannot go any further...why?

I have gotten pass 2000ft and continued.

Please try to re-install your APP and login your DJI account to check again. I would recommend to restart the app and aircraft if you changed to another battery.

That sounds like the need to login in the app when connected to the big net, eventually logout and in again, after this don't logout again. Also i have experienced that pressing exit when in my profile in the controller/app it does a logout.

Another issue would be if you are in what DJI has stated to be a no flight zone, checkout on http://www.dji.com/flysafe/geo-map

In order to access max distance you need to turn off max distance button, i.e. It should be clear not green, I don't know why it's like this it's a bit of a misnomer.

Sounds like you are in a NFZ and have a geo fence restriction or you need to update the NFZ database when you first turn on the drone and ensure that you have all FW up to date.
