A few dayss ago some idiot (for want of better words) flew at 1800 meters over Oslo, Norway.

The drone was spottes by a pilot of an SAS passenger jet inbound to Oslo Gardermoen airport from London (the final approach starts over Oslo, and it is common for the planes to fly at about 1500-2000m over the capital).

The article has a Phantom on the front, but the police do not know what type of drone it was, and are still looking for the pilot.

Does not DJI have a hard-coded altitude limit of 500m above the take-off point?

It's a pity they keep using that stock picture, yes dji drones are set at 500metres but many have been hacked to unlock this illegal of course, reality is all dji drones are capable of flying as high as they can long,
But it will be idiots like this that force dji into reducing range on their drones, but the risk to human life from these stupid people demands harsher penalties hopefully we are not all tarred with the same brush.

seriously, come on.  Here we are fighting our policy makers not to restrict drones where we can't fly them anywhere and here comes this idiot that puts us all at risk.  at risk; having regulations imposed that are more restrictive.

COMMON SENSE PEOPLE .. common sense ...

I am putting, as you say, "negative stuff" for the sake of the community being informed.
Not all is rosy in this world, and it's better to face it and act upon it, by making those who may even consider doing anything like this (maybe thinking it's innocent fun) not to do it!

That is my hope, too.

Forrest Gump comes to mind - Stupid is as stupid does... Unfortunately, every one else usually ends up paying for such stupid actions (justification for more restrictions).

Evil isn’t the real threat to the world. Stupid is just as destructive as Evil, maybe more so, and it’s a hell of a lot more common. What we really need is a crusade against Stupid. That might actually make a difference.”
