Thanks all.  I agree, a polarizing filter would have been amazing.  I have seen pictures where properly adjusted, the fish appear to be floating in air once the glare can be reduced.  I plan to definitely look at the possibility of filters.  Hopefully someone will figure out an effective way to also make the polarizing filters adjustable (i.e rotate) though I suppose my lenses in my polarized sunglasses don't rotate and they are pretty effective.
