It uses both 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz , they say less interference on 5.8ghz but limited in CE to 300 metre 2.4ghz 500 metre. If you live in a built up area maybe 5.8 would suit better , I live in the countryside so mostly use 2.4ghz with very little problems.

To set it you just go to app 5.8 ghz will already set you can change by clicking on 2.4 ghz scroll down and choose channel with lowest green line confirm, your app will turn off then back on and now should be in 2.4ghz, can be tricky at first but in no time will become second nature.

The RC of Spark supports 2.4 Ghz and 5.8 Ghz. You can switch and check the performance.
