North Norfolk (North East East Anglia )   in Uk  a quiet area with some nice pubs and restaurants along coastal region .

Living in a land-locked state, and being a boater, there's something I don't understand...  Is that natural and expected of the boats and the tide?  Just let them stay where they are until the tide comes back in?

Yes they are tethered in position and when tide comes in they can than sail off !
