Hi there,

I've been a drone hobbyist for 10+ months and am toying with the idea of offering my services to businesses/organisations moving forward. To test the waters I have offered to do a Nottingham city/surrounding area compilation for a friends company and am providing the footage free of charge only charging for the post editing. He is then planning on using the footage on his website homepage.

Do I need to get registered commercially in order not to get prosecuted for the above? Please don't feel like I am trying to find a loop hole here, I just feel the license the CAA is offering has no extra penefits to flying as a hobbyist, therefore feel it is a way for them to make money more than protect us. I am making no money from the footage itself and my friend is using it on his website as a feature.

Would love to hear from people on this topic, I still personally feel there are a lot of grey areas within the whole commercial drone saga.
