After several weeks of submitting data to DJI this is the email I got this morning:

[size=12.800000190734863px]So everything was great and then it wasn't.  Can someone please explain?  Why should I drop another pile of money on DJI product if they can simply disappear?

I should add that it was line of sight over a lake at 200 ft with RTH set to 400.  No RTH. Battery 80 %.

What actually happened?

So basically DJI is saying that during the flight there were no signs of abnormality and they're offering  30% off coupon only for another Mavic Pro w/out RC/Charger.

The fact that you were over a lake at 200 ft and didn't get any warnings on the screen and fails....pretty crazy.  

It’s a usual mantra, for they can’t find any fault with pilot likewise they can’t find any fault with aircraft, if you had aircraft then they would have had black box to check for malfunction or pilot error.

Offering 30% is the norm in this situation, it may not seem fair but unless you can find your Mavic and return it with black box enclosed I don’t see it changing.

You could put your log up here, don’t know if someone here can find any other info that might show in your favor , I will leave link below if you choose to do so.

Do you have video?

We are sorry for the loss of the drone. Since the drone was lost, the flight log inside of drone cannot be retrieved, while the remaining flight record got cut off, we cannot figure out what happened afterwards, and there is no abnormality sign to show the drone had malfunction before the record ended.

i did that in another thread.  There was no additional info.  Just seems odd.  No it can not be proven, but this looks like a legit case to me.  i don't know quite what to do.  On the off chance it didn't go in the drink i am going to crawl through the woods again.

So you didn't actually see what happened to it?
