Hello guys. I'm a technician at a drone shop in Brazil and I'm facing a problem with two Inspire1. I can't upgrade them and I don't have image transmission on them. I'll explain as detailed as possible what's happening with each one of the drones.
1º Drone - Inspire 1 V2 with X3
  • I downloaded from DJI website "Inspire 1 Firmware v01.11.01.50 (X3)" and put the .BIN on the SD card (before doing this I format the SD card through another working Inspire1).
  • I turn on the aircraft only, with the SD card on it.
  • Drone starts to update, and beeps like "D-D-D-D-D" and after 1 minute or so it changes the beep to "DDDD-DDDD-DDDD" and keeps updating normally.
  • But after 2 or 3 minutes, the beep turns to a single and continuous "D" error beep.
  • I turn off the drone and check the TXT file. There isn't any TXT file. I check the hidden log and there isn't the hidden log either (there's the bin Misc>Log, but it's empty).

After this I turn on the remote controller and turn on the drone. The versions I see on the DJIGO are as following:
  • App 3.1.15
  • Aircraft 1.10.01.40+
  • Remote Controller 1.7.80
  • Camera 1.3.00.00
The symptons are:

  • I can start the motors and fly the aircraft
  • I can move the gimbal
  • I can't take pictures or record videos
  • I can't see live feed on the DJIGO, I just see a black screen and the message "No image transmission signal"

2º Drone - Inspire 1 V1 with X3
  • I downloaded from DJI website "Inspire 1 Firmware v01.11.01.50 (X3)" and put the .BIN on the SD card (before doing this I format the SD card through another working Inspire1).
  • I turn on the aircraft only, with the SD card on it.
  • Drone starts to update, and beeps like "D-D-D-D-D" and after less than 1 minute, the beep turn to a single and continuous "D" error beep.
  • I turn off the drone and check the TXT file. It says result failed. I check the hidden log and it says:

After this I turn on the remote controller and turn on the drone. The versions I see on the DJIGO are as following:
  • App 3.1.15
  • Aircraft 1.11.01.50
  • Remote Controller 1.7.80
  • Camera 1.10.01.40
I can see that according to these numbers, the Inspire is updated to the latest firmware, but the update process never finished normally. I know that when the update finished, we get the beep like "D-DD" but since the first time I tried to update, I always get the beep like a single and continuous "D" error beep. The symptons are:

  • I can start the motors and fly the aircraft
  • I can move the gimbal
  • I can take pictures and record videos
  • But I can't see live feed on the DJIGO, I just see a black screen and the message "No image transmission signal".
  • If I check the gallery through the DJIGO, I also can not see the library of images from my SD Card, although the photos and videos are on the SD Card.

Any good soul could help somehow? Thanks in advance!

I have had this continuous load beep before with mine, on advice from others who had the same issue, I let it run (had to leave the house) and it sorted itself out. The lines "[00019492][08 00][00] device not detected." and "[00033003][15 00][00] device not detected." would suggest hardware issues which would need sending in for repair. I can't remember what the 0800 and 1500 in the above lines refer to but I'm sure Donnie will see your post shortly, he knows more about this.
Sorry I can't be more help

You are a technician at a done shop? Interesting ....I guess I am the Good Soul you are waiting for .....LOL

I will tell you this, the cameras "air encoder"module has failed and at minimum the Camera will  need to be replaceed , repaired or wiped and  loaded with the proper FW.  NONE of this can be done unless you are a repair facility with DJI. The price from what I have seen is between 75 -300 USA dollars  depending if it is only corrupted or if the Encoder needs to be replaced.

This failure will also cause the AC not to be able to update or rollback .
The cause  can be but NOT ALWAYS  if the AC is updating  a new version of FW and the RC is turned on or updaiong at the same time can cause this type of failure . Also leaving the SD card on the AC with the update still loaded and turning on the RC can also cause it but not as much .  This is the ONLY correlation I have ever seen and have seen this  as MARK pointed out dozenzs of times !

Here is a list of the codes and what  areas  they control or have influence over .

bottom line , the camera must at minimum go to DJI for repair. At least in my experience with both codes on lines 0800 and 1500. .  99% cerataintly on this as long as there was no other circumstances , crash etc.
***Mark , you know me to well .......

Thanks for Mark and Donnie's explanation about the code.
We suggest to check if the contact pin got damaged and clean it. pin.png
Then, re-plug the 8 pin gimbal cable to see if it is loose.

Hello,

I'm going to latch onto this thread here and contribute with my own issues.  I have a V1 Inspire 1 with X3.   I have not flown for 1 year and recently brought it back out.   I'm running on firmware version 1.40 and go by the theory of "don't fix something that's not broken!" ... but now it's broken!   Everything was working perfectly last year when I was flying but last week when I brought it back out, I'm not getting any image transmission now.  Camera responds to pitch controls and takes pictures and videos to SD card fine.

Here's what I'm running:

I'm using an iPad Pro running IOS 10.2.1

I've also tried connecting my iPhone 5S and iPad mini 2 without success.  I have two Inspire 1 remote controllers and I've tried linking to each one separately and still no image transmission.

Here's my 3 most recent log files going back to last year when it did work (it's funny to note that I did get "device not detected" on 800 and 1500 last year but then it seemed to resolve itself):

So, what do the experts here think?  Camera encoder hardware fail or is there any point trying to update to the newest most up-to-date firmware?

Is this all the log you got from SD card?
Please directly roll down to the bottom and check the last one, if the status is failed and 08 00 and 15 00 show ''device not detected'', please clean the connector and re-plug gimbal cable to update again.

I only posted the 3 most recent logs at the bottom of the list.  I visually checked the contact points and they appear fine ... but maybe I'll give them a clean.   This a relatively new Inspire 1 (flown only 4 times, stored in case the rest of the time).

The only other change recently was I bought 3 new batteries (possibly with newer firmware from factory).  Would this have any affect on why it's not displaying an image?

I don't think that the batteries will cause the failure of displaying. But I would recommend you update the firmware of batteries if the app has the reminder. Please clean the contact point and reinstall your camera. Or you can reinstall the 8 pin cable and 10 pin cable above the camera and see if it is well-connected.
