Don't upgrade!


After fírmeware update the controller and drone might not talk anymore. The usual methods to pair does not work anymore and there are no way to downgrade.

Why DJI does this is for me a mysteri! It is just plain stupid.  The downgrade has been a way out before but they have disabled this possibillty. Now they are bricking a lot of drones out there making people angry.

Question: there’s no release note for that firmware update. Reason why i have NOT installed yet. Why did you take that risk?!

For me, i think is way suspicious that there’s no release note for this new update.

Last time i updated my P4P, dji kept the iso in d-log mode stuck at 800 making video look like crap full of noise and a real post nightmare.

Worst of all....you have NO WAY to go back and downgrade.

Hope dji takes action on your case and that you are able to solve that issue.

And DJI says about a "hardware failure" HAHAHAH...
IT 's not true... It's only an updating problems... but ..
BE carefull, if you upgrade and miss an intermeditate version.. you're clearly F****d and after.. DJI send you 271$ or 300$ to repair.. and It's not your fault
I mean DJI dont advise people about "you need to upgrade by passing on every version"..

And I have a simple question for DJI.. Why ? you dont check the current fw version BEFORE applying the new one ??? for easy money ? .. And of course.. you cannot downgrade.. It would be too easy...
I'm very very angry !
Force people to upgrade there phantom and brick them with your bad ugrade... and after force them to pay !
Now my pantom is brocken and I never buy somthing from DJI again !  NEVER!!!

Is there no upgrade available for RC as well, nothing mentioned in 'Aircraft Status' when display (with good internet connection) is connected to RC and both powered up (aircraft off) ?

I have no idea if there is an RC update, but worth checking, the last update for the P4 had the RC update delivered like that, not as you might expect using the 'check for updates' link in DJI Go 4 'General Settings'/'About' section.

Wonder if dji’s owner reads the forum?!?!?!......ever?!?!

Just to verify, is the controller/aircraft firmware update successful?  What's the current aircraft and controller version? Please kindly offer and I'd like to help you.

I'm sorry to read your unpleasant experience. Generally, the firmware update will not cause any hardware issue. However, if the hardware itself does not work well, then the update will not be successful. Could you tell us your case number? I'd like to check it.
