I keep reading that the standard does not have a Shutter Button. Does that mean there is no Shutter Button on the controller and to trip the shutter you go through the app? Or does that mean you can't set or control the Shutter on the standard?

You can set it via menu above or bellow the record icon on the app live screen. Set it slow (1/20) or fast (to 1/200 or more)

Agree with Peterx. The RC of P3S itself does not have the shutter button, you can set it in APP. Just have a try.
