Hello DJI,

Today I arrived on site to fly a commercial mission. Remote area with no network connection from iPad Mini 4. Launch Go 4 and am prompted to login, which I can't do from this remote area. Abort mission.

When I got home I connected to the internet and logged in. I assume this is a one time requirement?

I think what prompted the need to login was an update that was pushed to my iPad for Go 4 update from 4.1.11 to 4.1.12. Is there a way to stop these automatic pushes so that I don't get surprised like I did yesterday?

Thanks,

Don

You just have to set your iPad to NOT update automatically... then when you update you can skip any or all updstes, one by one. Anyway, Login is normally required after an update, and before leaving home for a mission it is a good idea to check for this kind of occurrence.

As  Antonio said you can block from updating, as someone who flys commercially, it is part of my preflight to check all this stuff before leaving home, I’m sure once bitten twice shy and you won’t let it happen again.
I do think that we should receive notice by sms etc when updates are about to be released I’m sure 24 hrs would suffice for most.

Sorry you lost your days work, hopefully you can make up for it.

Login your DJI account and keep the status, do not logout manually. The login message will not prompt again.

Thanks all. Yes would be good as part of preflight check to do this before leaving home.

Hi Susan, I don't follow you. Do you mean login from the G0 4 app? What do you mean by "and keep the status, do not logout manually"? Thanks, Don

i Read it has saying you can close the app but don’t log out.

One thought on your original problem, If your iPad is WiFi only could you have connected it to your phone via mobile hotspot to sign in to your account to remove the restriction.

Ahh, that's a good one, AlanHd! I should have thought of that. I've never had the need to use my phone as a mobile hotspot. If I had thought of that it probably would have saved the day.

How do you do that on Apple?

Not sure if this would help you in the future.
Your cell phone, can be used as a wifi hotspot. (Only Where Applicable).

Go to Settings, slide down until you see iTunes& AppStore, select it, then deselect Updates. (you will have to go periodically to the AppStore to download the updates you want manually)

OK. It was turned off, but was the DJI GO 4 App updated all the same, without your input? This should not happen -unless you opened the App Store and clicked on "Update all" , in which case it would have updated all the Apps for which there was an update pending...

My APP Icon will show that I have pending updates but I actually have to go into the APP Icon and choose which one I want to update.  So I guess that means mine is setup for manual updating and not automatic since the option is turned off.  Correct?
