Hi I've got an iPad 2 which I'm trying to use with my Phatom 3 professional.  The set up works fine with my iPhone but I can get the iPad to connect properly.  Any ideas?
The iPad is running iOS 9.3.5

It might be out of spec to work. Try a newer ipad.

Well according to the App it should work?

Do they have the same OS? How about re-installing the APP? Any help?

See if yo can get your hands on a more recent iPad & see how that goes. I have an idea that IOS upgrades for the 2's stopped late 2016 or in the more recent roll out's.

My iPad3 would not even download the old Pilot app.

Seems that IOS 9.3 is not compatible so I went out and got a 2017 version running IOS 11 and guess what .....   Not compatible on the iPad version but ok on the phone.  Awaiting DJI to tweek the app.  Meanwhile can only use my phone to fly.  Totally p#$$%d off.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

You could try loading  an older version, if you have access to them.

Tried that but Apple won't let you downgrade to the 10.3.3 version anymore.  Just have to wait till DJI get their finger out and upgrade the DJI Go app.  I'm not buying a 3rd iPad lol

Yes, they want you to be updated, to the most current version.
It was an idea, that had been done in the past.  Hopefully, you get an update that fixes your concerns.

Have tried everything.  Been told by you (DJI) that IOS 9.3 on older iPads not compatible.  Went out and bought latest iPad (2017) and still not working.  Now being told IOS 11.0.3 on iPad not compatible.  Awaiting update to DJI Go app.  CAn you get on to your people to get this to happen.  Seems quite a big problem with the launch of IOS 11 on iPads

R-Dog may be worthwhile seeing if you can track down another flyer near you (cheaper than more hardware) and see if their hardware/software functions correctly.  
So you are running IOS 11.0.3 on your iPad. I have a 9.7 iPad Pro running with no issues so in theory DJI Go 4 should run. Bit hesitant to suggest you outlay more $'s without solving current problem but Litchi may be worth a try.
I presume you are using same cable when you connect the RC to your iPhone and then again your iPad?

I'm just using the DJI Go app as I only have the P3P.  Do you know if you can use the Go 4 app with the P3P?  It doesn't want to work with my larger iPad pro running 11.0.3

Go 4 app, is made for the Phantom 4 models.

Oops absolutely correct. I think I managed to confuse myself.
I was flying the P3P in late September using DJIGo & the iPad but having managed to destroy it I can't recall what software version I was on.
Replacement P3A functions ok though.

It wouldn't be difficult to become confused, with it all. There are too many devices being controlled by the same Go app already. I think each drone model should have its own app.

There is already too much bloat ware stuffed into these apps.

Just a thought but how can you tell if the USB port is working OK?

When I turn on my RC, it triggers the iPad to turn on...

Mmm.  Mine used to but it doesn't now.  This could be the problem. Have to find a dealer and see how much repair or replacement would cost - AUD

Hopefully, you can get this cleared up, soon.

Not sure why it would stop working correctly, but that has to be a pain in the butt.

Hi there.  Well its sorted.  Spoke to the people I got the Drone from (Sphere Drones in Sydney) and they recommended replacing the USB module with the latest HDMI one.  With postage cost me $182 but got it overnight, fitted it and bingo I'm ready to go.  The App is saying I should update the firmware on the RC but I did that prior to my issues so I'm a little hesitant.  Do you know the latest firmware version number.  It says I've got 1.8.0+.
Anyway thanks for all your advice and time.  Much appreciate
