Hello, I have a brand new Mavic that required an update right out of the box. The update failed and will no longer bind to the controller or connect to the DJI Go app. The current firmware is showing 00.00.0000. Does anyone have any suggestions?  

Please try to update the firmware via DJI Assistant 2, here is the tutorial video for your reference:

I have tried this on a number of occasions. The updates work for the controller but always fail for the Mavic. I have tried using the DJI Assist 2 and the DJI Go App.

Please export the log of upgrade and post here. We can help you analyze the log. Usually, it is located in C：/Users/XXXXXX/AppData/Roaming/DJI Assistant 2/upgrade_log.
Please keep us updated.

Can you please post the log file here (see DJI Elektra)? Seems, that I have a similar problem.

I ended up sending it back to DJI for the second time within a week of purchase. I will receive my third drone tomorrow from dji and hopefully I won't have any issues. What firmware version is recommended?

I noticed that up till this time a lot of users are still having issues updating FW.
Can the SW Eng @ DJI just let users dwnld the FW and let user install it offline like many other SW?
Is this NOT possible and WHY not?

you can only update to the latest two FWs through the DJI assistant. out of those two, latest is recommended I guess
