Hello all again I am having issues with my app. The latest example,today
First,. I use a Samsung S4
Now the app is very lagging for example,the video.
When I clicked on the camera button it took several efforts and some waiting till it changed from video to camera
Same when I clicked to take a photo. Took several presses of the button. In the meantime the drone is hovering while I'm waiting and the battery is wasting
I am considering it could be my mobile (yes I clear the cache). I am considering buying a cheap S4 (does the samsung s4 mini work on the mavic?), clear it from everything and use it only for the drone But because I am short of money adn I wont be able to buy a phone soon, I wanna know if something else could be causing this
I update the filmware before each flight

I am using a phone (Huawei) just for the drone nothing else and working fine all the time.
Data and Wi-Fi are out, phone is in flight mode.

I use an iPhone 7+ and never have lag issues with my Mavic - the OcuSynch tech is better than the lightbridge on my P4P in my experience.

Your phone is the cause, it's a pretty low-on-resource phone now, it will struggle!

I started with my Mavic using my S4. For the first few days it worked flawlessly, but then I started to have bad lagging as you describe. I think (but can't remember for sure) it began after a firmware/app update.

I found that the amount of lag varied from day to day. I found the S4 screen too dim anyway. After a lot of research I ended up getting an Oppo R9s and have used it for about 20 flights so far. The Oppo is dedicated to the Mavic and only has apps on it related to flying.

It has performed very well for me. No lagging issues at all.

Update to A NEWER phone. Also, IOS  is more suited for GO4.

thanks guys. I guess I'll try to find a cheap/used iphone just for the drone. Can you suggest a model? It doesn;t have to be a new one

Devices might have compatibility issues if the configurations are not strong enough. Sometimes we would recommend using the mobile device on our test list because engineers had tested to run DJI GO/DJI GO 4 on that mobile devices and they performed fine.

Absolutely not.   iPhone 4 is way to old and unsupported.    iPhone 5S is lowest I would go for this use case.  

Since your budget is really tight.. I suggest looking into phones like the Motorola G4, iPhone 5S.


I don’t know the market where you are, but in most places used 32GB iPhone 5S can be had used for ~$150, and new Motorola G4 can be had for ~$130, and a used 32GB iPad mini 2 for ~$180

In terms of lower price and what you can get without any fuss, I would go for moto G4.

ok I found an iphone 5s for 100 euro. If its not sold by next month I'll get that. Tomorrow I'll also google for that motorola and see what I find

Sorry, iPhone 4 might not compatible with DJI GO 4. Please refer to my picture attached above.

Yes. That's the support device list which contains the mobile devices that work with DJI GO/DJI GO 4.

I have been using an Ipad mini 64 gb. and have been losing all controls with my Spark.   The landing button is lagging and it even took off on me.

my pc is in the shop so mobile search is on hold till I get it back. Will get back to you

Hi, Ron, just to verify, which generation is your iPad mini? Please kindly note that the first generation is not on the support list. It might have the compatibility issue.

It's not your phone!  It's plenty powerful enough.  I've used the same S4 without any lag issues.  I have been using a OnePlus One and it has NOT CRASHED once, and is not laggy at all.  Today I upgraded Go4 (from 4.1.5 to 4.1.10/latest); fired her up and.....lag, LAg LAG!!!!  Press the shutter and literally wait 15 sec for it to react; video goes all pixelated etc.  It was/is crap now.  Also fyi when I use the older versions of Go4 it was perfect but I've never been able to use LITCHI without massive lag; I've 'forced' to use GO4.  Now it seems my Go4 is like Litchi.  WTF???

actually in my case I think it could be my phone. It's kinda lagging on other stuff as well. Anyway I would like an opinion on those two links I posted

If you are referring to the Galaxy S4 phone, it is a bit old for using DJI Go 4. You'll need something much more powerful to get a good experience. The older DJI Go works well with slower phones, but DJI Go 4 is a resource hog.
