I'm looking at video editing tools for my P3P, i guess one editing tool will do most video footage from any type of drone. I will be buying a P4P very soon so i'll be able to use the same tool for both drones.

The question is which one should i be looking at buying, when i tried photoshop once it almost blew my mind on getting to understand how the thing worked although i got the hang of the basic's but when it came to the tricky stuff i gave up.

Please let me know whitch one you would recommend.

I use Premiere. There are a lot of free lessons out there. You can teach yourself to do almost anything.  Also, you will never be limited to what you want to do because of the software.   I switched from final cut pro to Premiere awhile back. It was a very painful few months.

Good luck

Yes, there is a free option, just limits some of the things you can do. But it is a fairly steep learning curve to get to know how to use it. Mind you, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. You need a fairly powerful Mac to run the program however.

Yes you can, you will find many tutorials on youtube all video editing is a steep learning curve - but its very good even the free "studio" version - They have a Mac option, i run on an iMac with mine. Edit-Colour-Grade-Export is what they all do basically.

I'm not to sure if my old iMac is going to run this davinci edit program, I've just gone through the set up and it's asking about graphics card. I'll have another go tonight when I'm not so tied.

I'm not able to use the iMac for video editing as I'm guessing its out of date? it's a 2008 model and the graphics card is not up to the job. What do I do now?

I'm getting video's that I can't edit and show and they are starting to build up. please advise is needed.

No, a 9 year old iMac is way too old to be editing modern movie footage. Get a much faster machine first, then try again.

You could always do what I do, keep it and hoard it, and eventually throw it out. Or simply skip to the throw-out stage immediately. But unless you can find someone with undemanding requirements, it is probably going for scrap.

No, it cannot be upgraded in all practicality.

Your right about that. I'm needing to save up for a new iMac which is going to be £1300 and if I don't I'll not be able to enjoy this new pleasure of flying drones and Ariel photography.

I've just downloaded iMovie to my MacBook Pro, I've gone into iMovie and had a quick look. I can see that it's uploaded some photo's and some of the drone footage as well. I will take another look tomorrow when I've more time to explore. I guess I'll need to take a look on youtube to see how iMovie works.

2008 Mac getting long in the tooth but hang on to it as a 2nd machine (I still have a 128k yep 128k, machine down the shed and it still works...slowly). In the meantime iMovie on the MacBook Pro should do while you save for the new iMac (option up as much memory as you can afford when you buy). Also if you don't have one, buy an external hard drive to move you completed videos on to. Storing the movies will allow you to keep the MacBook uncluttered & edit etc etc, you get the picture At the moment it seems you are in compromise so tread the line!
