Acquisition of crystalsky monitor is a game changer. Superlative in all respects.very pleased to file a positive report.

Which one have you bought and where did you get it from? Wherever I search, it is out of stock.

Went for 5.5. Bought it from DJI UK.Came yesterday, ordered Sat.
Charging dock needs 17 volt 3-4 amp dc in. ( Made temp plug)

Thank you for the information! Does this mean the charger from the Spark Combo will not work for the Crystalsky?

No I believe not. Most of the phantom  chargers work, but I ordered a 12 v  car one from you know where. £10-15.While waiting I made a connection with wires. Centre pin pos has a very thin socket.
5.5 is right for me cause it still fits in rc claws. You really can see it in sunshine☺

Thats good to read - thanks for sharing. Am considering the 7.85" screen to use with my P4P. Don't think I could justify it with only as Spark though i.e. a monitor worth more than my actual drone LOL

On the other hand I'm rather pleased there's more filthy lucre on the ground than in the air with me now☺

Sorry that the CrystalSky only supports the following charger at present:

Watchberger, They do list phantom 3 car charger, among others.
I'm not for recommending 3rd party kit, but just for info it is 17 v DC supply, with regulation done in the dock which is included.

Hey Bright Spark, are you able to use your CS on 2.4ghz I’m having a problem connecting to 2.4ghz.

Hi Hallmark. Yes I can get it onto 2.4, but only with OTG. When all powered up , on wifi, clicking wifi icon offers 2.4.
Choose channel, wifi auto resets, plug in cs then rc and it comes back up @2.4.
Similar to android phones.
Haven't flown with it as all's well in 5.8 but will test out of interest tomorrow.

Things are getting exciting for me. The day before yesterday I received a notification (I had subscribed for that in DJI store) that the Crystalsky 7,85'' eventually becomes available now. Yesterday I have ordered the "high brightness" version together with the Phantom 4 160W charger. To my slight disappointment the indicated delivery time was around 28 days. AND NOW, this morning I got the notification that it has been shipped already together with the tracking number. Fantastic! :-)
What remains to hope now is that DJI will soon allow it to get the latest App version and ideally will also allow to install third party Apps.
I shall report back on my first experiences as soon as I have received my new Chrstalsky. DJI has also released a nice video:

For me, the 2 conditions before buying the CS are :

- being able to install third party apps
- having DJI releasing an Android version of GSPro

My only concern is the single use of Crystal Sky, I would rather use an iPad mini, for size and flexibility. Although I like the idea, the cost is too prohibitive for me.

I already own a 5.5 Crystalsky I find it great, only problem it really needs to be updated, not sure why it’s taking so long, but I’m prepared to wait but not forever.

More impressed with crystal sky than ever,
as soon as I realised it's infinitely better to  have equipment that does its prime purpose superbly rather than lots of tasks indifferently.
I don't care what firmware or software level it's  at anymore, since it works cleanly, quickly and rock solid every time. No matter what you spend on other devices, they'll still be plastered with bloatware, and still unbelieveably dim.
It's not at risk loss wise, and is saleable or useable on other dji a/c.
Still each to his own.

I agree but our great DJI Elektra has created some hope for updates recently. And I trust that now as all models will entually arrive on the market, DJI has not many other options than to keep them up to date ;-).

Yes, this is what convinced me too to go for the investment. And I really got tired of not seeing properly the image on my tablet in bright light conditions when picture or video taking produces the best results.

Once you've seen the light.......!
I don't want any updates. I think most are work arounds at best  to accomodate all the changes  and unknowns in other manufacturers' android skins.
Under one roof is imperative for this sort of equipment.

I agree having dedicated hardware for the job in hand is the right way to go, using your phone all day then trying to get it charged so you can fly in evening is a real pain, not to mention no need to be standing in the shade or using oversized hood, as for the price it’s 30% cheaper than an iPhone has a great quality build and that’s why I have just purchased the 7.85, I do think that dji should update software soon.

Nevertheless I very much would welcome the option to have the most up to date App version with all new features and bug fixes. This might be less relevant for "older" DJI copters, but for the Spark we have seen so many positive developments in the past few months that it would make sense. And I also would like to be able to install certain third party Apps, e.g. a screen recorder which I find very useful to have for documenting and analysing purposes.

Hi Bright Spark, I’ve just purchased the 5”5 Cs.....BRILLIANT!  My question to you is...how do you connect? Do you use an OTG cable or just wifi between rc and ac? And do you put it airplane mode? Some guy on Youtube told me to put it in airplane mode but when I do the the screen goes black?? Your thoughts will be appreciated, thank you. I’m in the UK aswell, Essex.

Oh, this raises a question that only now comes to my mind: The current version of DJI GO reported to be on the Crystalsky is 4.1.6, is this correct? And are you able to use this with your Spark although the Spark didn't exist yet at the time of that App version? Or am I mistaken with this assumption?
