Used to be fine, but now DJI Go4 is unusable due to video lagging...

None of the reccomended actions solved the issue:

- is a dedicated device (only DJI Go 4 installed)
- turned off video cache recording on app
- airplane mode when flying the drone

- magnetic side of iPad away from the controller when mounted
- tuned off background tasks in iOS
- using last version iOS / app / MP firmware
- factory reset iPad
- reinstall app

Anyone have something new I could try? I'm using Litchi and everything runs smoothly...

I don't use the iPad mini 4 with my Mavic Pro but I used it 2 days ago with my Inspire 2 using the latest Go 4 App and iOS 11.03. The video was working normally for me. Only flew about 5000 feet away at any one time. But I run the HD video streaming in manual mode on the Inspire 2 picking a clear channel on 2.4G.  The Mavic works a bit differently and I keep in automatic mode using my iPhone 8+

Maybe you can go to the general settings page by tapping on the three dots upper right. go down to video cache, then  clear cache from your device. This will take a lot of space and could help you out.  I keep my cache at 8G but my iPad has 128G storage

Thanks for the suggestions but I already cleared and turned off the video cache...  Can you give some more advice on how to optimise the HD video streaming?

just checking, did you by any chance run screen recording?
I use iPad mini 4 with iOS 11.02 and DJI GO 4 (not latest, as I forbid automatic updates) and have only barely visible lag, till I run screen recording than the hell got loose - lag, tears ... see for Yourself
So I never use this wonderful feature

To be honest, I have not needed to try custom (manual) mode on my Mavic using OcuSync transmission. But you can try this yourself by switching to manual mode and look for a clear channel. I will look at this myself and experiment with the settings to see if I can help you.

Did you happen to just update Go4 to latest version and have the stutter happen?  I updated from 4.1.5 and immediately have tremendous lag...that's the only that changed with my setup; perfect beforehand.

Yes, I had some minor lag situatons before maybe due to interference... but now with this last version Go4 app went crappy... just impossible to use it....

For me
- clearing the cache in the app,  
- reinstalling the app and
- most importantly making sure there was enough space on my ipad mini 2

solved the issue.
Although it is still on ios 10 , no crashing, buttery smooth video feed, all the new functions available.

I did.  The first time I tried it, the app disconnected and I had to do a RTH via the remote.  A second attempt worked fine.  I did not experience any noticeable choppy video. I believe I was on IOS 11.03 at the time.

I heard from DJI store that the delay caused by IOS11

I'm on 4.1.9 and iOS 10 mini2 without issues. It appears something happened in the later GO4 app upgrades and maybe a combination with iOS11 causing these issues.

Since the lagging started I deactivated the video cache, so I don't have any videos to upload, but I'll fly the bird later and I will post here. Tks

Same for me, using either port. I don't screen record, Mini 4 is a clean machine, I don't even have google maps installed.

I am on 11.0.2 and just flew with lastest firmware and DJI Go and didn't notice any lag on my Mini 4. Guessing this must be due to 11.0.3.  I guess I'll hold off on the update.  How much memory do you have on your Mini 4?  The new IOS could be more of a memory hog or just doesn't manage it as well for a performance sensitive app like DJI Go.  Mine has 128gb and works great so far (on 11.0.2 that is)

You're lucky.....mine won't even connect to the RC.

Perhaps that's key. I also don't screen record. Next time I'll try and sse if that's the issue

Ipad capacity size and memory are completely different topic.  128G size won’t boost your iPad mini speed up.
We are having issue mainly with iPhone 7 and 7plus after upgrade to ISO11.0x and DJI confirmed that is an OS issue.

Well they've got a lot of us beta testing this software, so yea... Hopefully soon.

This GO 4 ruins an otherwise awesome experience. The Mavic is so sophisticated & then it's paired with that... Doesn't make sense.

Me too. It would be great to have an official warning relative to IOS 11.0.3. I am holding off upgrading my mini 4 for that reason. I do have 11.0.3 on the iPhone 7 and it seems to work fine with the latest DJI Go4.

I upgraded to iOS 11.0.3 on the iPhone 7 with the Mavic on 0000 and the latest Go4 app and it's bee flawless, no issues at all even when screen recording a 22min flight and caching at the same time, very smooth and went out to 4km with full signal all round, impressed. Bizzare some are having issues, especially on the Mini4 which I always throught was the "flagship" device, I liked mine, but sold it as the ergonomics were a bit big, still the screen, wow.

Today (Oct 25, 2017)  a new version of GO4 appeared: 4.1.14 - Maybe DJI improved the connectivity issues with the latest IOS versions (As usual, nothing is mentioned in the description of the new version)

Hmm - I'm on 4.1.12 I checked for updates via the DJI GO app, Assistant 2 and the itunes app store and none indicate that an update to GO is available....what am i missing / doing wrong?

Maybe DJI is releasing the update depending on the region you are in ... So keep looking in the App Store.

Popped up here now (EU, Sweden)

Installed new Go 4 version... despite there are no mentioned improvings for the Mavic...  I will make a test flight this afternoon...

I updated the GO4 4.1.14 on my Mini4 today and flew, no problems at all. Don't know what was updated to the app. The only thing I had to do was celibate the compass, which for me is normal for almost every flight. Also i am runnig most current FW, iOS (not Beta), GeoFence software.
