Nice gesture to reach out to the rightful owner. It does however look destroyed.

If the news station posted the full-res version of the photo, I would think it might be possible to make out the numbers on the dog's tag?

The quickest way to find the rightful owner would be to have a King Air pilot make up another story about being hit by a drone.  They'd find the dude in no time flat.

The article even includes the picture of the possible owner, that was on Mavic's SD card.


The article stripped EXIF data from that image, but Mavic includes the GPS loaction in EXIF, so it could help finding where that person lives.

Now, if the finder could access the flight logs, it's possible that some of the small logs files would contain the owner's GPS location form dry-starts at home.
