Did firmware update, and now I am getting a "Gimbal disconnected" error msg, anyone knows how to remedy this problem?

Was the firmware update fully successful ? Look in the log file for sure(it´s in the SD card in cam).

If you update your drone successfully, you can try to unplug the pin which connect your camera with your drone and connect it again. Please keep us updated, thanks,

Hi. I'm new on the forum.
I have the same issue :
Everything works fine, everything is up to date and I have the message "Gimbal Status : disconnected".
I asked for help on the online chat and here's what's been answered :
As I use a device wich isn't in the list of compatible devices (Samsung A5 2017), I encounter that problem and my drone WILL crash...
Quite hard to believe... What do you thing about that?

I'm quite afraid of unplunging the wires because I fear to break something... Do you sugest to do it while it's powered? To power it off, to unplung, then replug and then turn the power on? Details will be appreciated.

Aloha Cyril,

     NO!  Drone cables are not "hot swapable".  Turn off the complete system and do as instructed.  There should be two cables coming from the body of the P3 and connecting to the gimbal.  Pull them apart using a tweezers if possible.  Look closely at them to see how far they should go in to make a proper connection and then connect them again.  Compare the two of them to see if they are both set in as deep as possible.

     You might want to check your vibration dampers that hold your gimbal to the body of the Phantom.  Are they attached properly?  On the two that do not have "Anti-Drop Pins", use a small zip-tie to keep them from separating.  Be sure to not make them too tight.  The damper has to move.

     Hope this helps!

The cables are fairly easy to disconnect. Take a butter knife and just slide under the small tab and gently lift

The amount of posts regarding this on various Facebook groups is starting to increase.

If you have just updated to 3.1.18 and everything still works but your getting the gimbal status disconnected message, then just roll back to 3.1.11 until DJI bother to acknowledge and fix the issue, if they haven't already.

Any good recommendations for how to trouble shoot a gimbal after a hard landing?  I can no longer move the camera up and down.  The two other axis seem to be working.

First time post -- but I think I'm in the right thread.
We have a Phantom 3 standard.
Apparently the 'gimbal disconnect' is a generic & misleading message for more than one error?
In another thread, a user explained he inadvertently re-labeled a clip on his card. Instead of dragging it off to a drive and relabeling there. The 'gimbal disconnect' message popped up, but since it had nothing to do with a card issue, he didn't address it until having pursued a bunch of other avenues.
Anyway -- we made the same card error.
Dragged everything off the card using a card reader and computer -- then reloaded the card in the P3.
Now we could again see & reformat the card, have live picture, and the gimbal message vanished.
We've yet to fly, but are certain the issue is resolved.

I had the same problem. Very frustrating as you know

I replaced the DJI battery with the "extra one" I purchased from another source. At the same time I removed the SD card, replaced the DJI battery it came with and....

Voila! I have video again!

I'm not sure which action made the change, but I don't care. I can fly again!!!!

I pulled it out and charged it and updated the firmware and was getting gimbal disconnected messages.  Found a YouTube video of the user who is experiencing the same issue. All I had to do is on the app tap the controller icon and select the link button.  You then have 59 seconds to push the link button on the side of the drone. It’s located on the right side of the gimbal directly in front of the red light. Had to use a pen to push and hold for about five seconds.  Pushed it for five seconds and Voila problem solved! Hope this helps!

Hi Gents, I have also the Gimbal Disconnected error on my DJI Phantom 3, after started up, it gives a video picture, but the aircraft is beeping; beep - beep.... beep - beep... the led in front of the gimbal is burning solid green. I cannot move the gimbal with the remote controller, it also does not record video.

I tried to upgrade / downgrade the firmware, but also that fails, it gives a long beeeeeep....

When removing the SD card, the led goes from green to red. (don't know if this is normal)

The aircraft is flying without any issues, I use a iPhone X....

Relinking the RC did not worked out, error stays.

Hi Kianchi, sorry for the late response. Regarding the Gimbal Disconnected, you may check whether the gimbal does self-diagnosis after powering on and responds to your control. If yes, please try to reinstall the APP to see whether it is the misinformation. Alternatively, you may try to link RC again to see whether it helps.

Same problem with the gimbal and I have tried multiple SD-cards, however it still won't work.

My main issue is updating the firmware on the Drone. I have put the .Bin file on the card and have waited a a long time, but nothing happens (no beeping sounds). The app says "Gimbal Disconnected" so I think the Inspire 1 (with Zenmuse X3) will not read the SD-card properly. Any suggestions on how to solve this AND update the firmware?

My Inspire 1 is currently at V1.5.00.30+ and i downgraded my RC from 1.7.80 to 1.5.80 to match firmware. Any higher RC firmware version will connect properly to Inspire 1. App version 3.1.58.

Pins on the Drone and Gimbal are in very good condition. One problem I have is that I don't see any "camera settings" on my camera view on iOS, which you would normally expect when in camera view.

In the status say "Gimbal disconnected" and the general status say in red "Aircraft Disconnected"
I try re install firmware but it fail
