The overall status message has been there since I've activated the P4P (not the +) and although I was able to fly, I'm concerned about this message.

Yesterday, I decided to refresh the FW on the DJI Assistant 2 site instead of using the 7 Plus but the message still remains.




Wondering if others have also seen this 'Air Encoder Error (0x4000000)' message on the Go4 app when the P4P is connected ? Moderators have any clue as to what might be causing this? any concerns with flying even with this message status? Thanks.

Have you updated the dji go app to.14?
This might solve the issue as dji stated before on the mavic forum that  this was a kind of bug which can be ignored and that an update will follow. Well the dji go update might have been this update

Yeah it's been updated to the most current P4P FW.

Aircraft Firmware : V 01.04.0602

I think this may be related to the camera not certain, have you tried to calibrate gimbal, not sure if it will work but worth a try.

I also had this error, P4P Obsidian first time I turned it on. Since it was brand new, packed it up and returned it. The replacement should be here in a few days. It's not the Go 4 app, I get the error in Litchi too.

Me too, since several folks have had the issue, I wonder if DJI has a batch of bad camera related HW. I'll post how the new one is once I get it.

Affirmative, heard this from several DJI reps as well. Apparently it's some sort of bug they're trying to resolve.

Just refreshed again on DJI Assistant 2 and although it's still show, it's definitely updated/upgraded and working with the latest FW.

It's not the gimbal; it's a bug but doesn't effect the ability to fly.

As I'd mentioned above it's on the latest FW and all checks out with activation and live feed on the gimbal.

As others have noted, this was first found on the new Mavic Pro Platinum. It appears to be a unique problem with iOS. It does not occur on Android.

The general consensus from DJI is to ignore the error. It will not affect flight.

A recent update to the Mavic Pro Platinum has resolved the issue.

It is not a hardware problem. The firmware is the culprit.

A relief to hear that it's only a bug and they're trying to do to do something about it.

Hopefully it'll be resolved sooner than later and the air encoder error can finally disappear...it's making me nuts...but I'll keep flying !!!!

Question: Is this error related to your brand spankin new P4P Obsidian?
If so...
I ask because I'm not seeing any such error with my P4P and it is fairly new with all the updates.  This would seem to indicate a hardware problem.
Hope it gets worked out for you...Darth with an error just isn't right

On the P4P Obsidian: the error message.  It still flies and even has video feed. Screen states all updates confirmed. Strange.

What in the world does 'AIR ENCODER ERROR' mean ??????

WOW !! that's exactly what I have I both AC/RC.

So it appears this 'Air Encoder Error' issue only applies to the Obsidian's software?  Since there's been no reported issues with the prior P4P models would be my guess. Fatherxmas is the only other person that's reported the same issue.

delete app from go to create a new account and you should do it

Clearly something is different, what it is, is the question, and I'm afraid only DJI can truly answer that.

Correct, that was also my question. Hopefully DJI will have some answers soon.

Going to troubleshoot later and see what I come up with..if I find a solution then DJI needs to hire me.

At the very least you may find out about something that is coming our way in the next update...maybe...but hopefully not.

It is sad to see these errors with a product that was delayed and then finally released only to have this happen. I would have thought that there would have been enough R & D done to avoid this. I myself was contemplating buying a new Obsidian, but glad I have waited. May turn out to be nothing and I hope for those of you that bit the bullet, that it is resolved quickly. I love the DJI products and shouldn't be so harsh, but I think if a little more time was given to sorting out some of these problems would only benefit them. But we all know they have better than 70% of the market anyway. Got to give them credit for that! Just nothing worse than spending a bunch of money and then have issues right out of the gate. I truly hope that DJI will put more effort into making sure the product is ready in the future before releasing it. They are already at the top of the heap, they don't always have to come out with a new model just to say they did it before everyone else. DJI sets the "standard" that all the other manufacturers are trying to live up to. Slow down a little bit and make sure your product is good to go when you release it.

Well folks !!!! I've finally fixed the issue, the 'air encoder error x04.000000' thingy that kept showing up on the overall status. Unfortunately it appears to have been a software glitch.

Okay here's what I did and the best part about this, it's FREEEE...no no please moderators....no need to hire me.

1.) Make sure everything is charged up to 100%
2.) I decided to uninstall the DJ-Go 4 then reinstall the App for a fresh start.
3.) Connect the RC to Mobile device then wirelessly of course to AC.
4.) Reactivated/refreshed the FW download to the Phantom Obsidian.
5.) You'll immediately notice when the photo of the Obsidian pops up (didn't happen before).

BAM ! DONE ! GONER ! no more stupid  'Air Encoder Error' message !!!

To date I don't know what that even means but who cares at this point, it's gone.

Okay mission accomplished, now I can go fly Darth !
