I have on several occasions experienced "wavy" horizontal lines (see attached video for example). I'm unsure whether i'm just having the wrong settings or if it's a gimbal issue.
I'm shooting 4k 30 fps, I have tried usind ND filters in order to match the shutterspeed to the FPS, but the lines still occurs.. The lines occur in both windy situations and in relatively calm conditions.

Have anyone experienced the same and have a solution for this?

Wavy like the one on .41 secs? that looks like more of a glitch in the camera.

I have never seen that on my Mavic.  From your description, I thought you meant the streaks of sunlight that sometime come across my videos when turning while shooting - with those coming from the sun.  But yours is definitely different.  Sorry I can't be of help.

This video is coming from the original version of the SD card, right? Please check if you are in Sport mode when this happens, make sure that you had removed the gimbal lock before the flight, and also have a check of the anti-drops hook. If it still doesn't work, please help to name the firmware version, and upload the video to Dropbox, I'll forward to the engineers to check. Thank you.

Hi DJI Thor,

Thank you for your response, here is a dropbox link to the video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/923fdq ... r%20%C3%A5.MOV?dl=0

The video is straight out of the SD card. The mavic was in normal mode, and i had performed the pre-flight check list as shown in the video. The gimbal lock was taken off, and the anti-drops hooks were "normal"  - I had no feeling that something was not right, and it flew well that day. I have other videos from the same day, where the blurriness was absent.

The firmware is:
APP: 4.1.12
Aircraft: 01.04.0000
remote: 01.04.0000

What you are experiencing is called "Jello" , Before you send the Mavic back try this,
1 Calibrate IMU's
2 Calibrate Vision Positioning System (VPS)
3 Calibrate Gimbal
4 Restart RC & AC
5 Calibrate Compass

I did this in this order and the "Jello" Effect was cured.

It's a good list, although i have already tried all of the mentioned steps, without any change. Sometimes there are no issues, but other times it's just like in the video above.

Did you have to do all of these steps every time you wanted to fly, or just once?

No just once after a few flights when the Mavic was new, I get it sometimes at higher altitudes where there is a wind factor. The Gimbal on the Mavic is much more sensitive to wind vibration than the Phantom Series. Though the "jello" is a little different looking than wind vibration.

ofcourse its not beacuse of the wind, you can fly the mavic at around 60km/h and it will never be anything like that..

Hi, I was told that if the issue occurs frequency even when there is no wind, please help to confirm if there was an impact damage before, it would be better to send it back for us to manage an overall check. Please refer to my answer on 9#. Appreciate your patience.

Yes, this is a good check, also wind speed of the flight environment and the gimbal lock is important, don't forget to remove it before the flight. But if the issue persists after doing so, we would recommend applying a check. We will help to diagnose when we receive it.

I had the same problem despite resetting IMU,Gimbal firmware as advised. The MP was returned to DJI for a gimbal/camera assembly replacement, the Mavic has been flying like a champ since.

I had the exact same problem on my first Mavic. It was like it out the box from the very first flight. I took it straight back to the place I bought it from and got it swapped out the next day. DJI confirmed it was a gimbal issue.

it's clear that we have the same or at least very similar errors with our drones. Did you return yours through your reseller only or did you contact DJI prior to returning it?

I went straight back to the reseller (maplin in the uk) and they swapped it out for another one.
I should clarify I posted that video to YouTube and asked for comment here first, and dji actually responded to the comments on YouTube confirming it was a gimbal issue and to send it in.
