Hello, maybe someone here can help or explain what is going on.
I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 connected to the controller on 2.4G and the controller is connected til the Spark on 5.8G.
Now i want to change to 2.4G between controller and Spark (in EU 2.4G give longer range), I do that in the DJI go 4 app. After that my S7 loose connection to the controller, but the strange thing is that the controller can not be found by scanning the Wifi network on my S7.
Now I powerup my old Ipad and it can find the controller on the wifi network.

So my S7 can't but my Ipad can

Dji i have now tried 4 of our android phones and none of them is able to see the controller via wifi scan. Only the Ipad.
You support Galaxy S7, what is going on?

Edit: photo show that ipad can find controller on WIFI put the phone can NOT

You live in EU... Spark not support CE 5.8Ghz channel table (if you set 2.4Ghz link RC-AC, phone - RC link is set automatic to 5.8Ghz)... Look here: https://forum.dji.com/thread-100550-1-13.html ... Dji coughing on EU users ...

if u use 2,4 between spark - controler u cant do that phone-controler. If u use 2,4 to controler-phone, u MUST use 5,8 to spark. U cant connect this 3 devices on one wifi band 2,4. if u want 2,4 spark-controler then controler-phone  is 5,8 or OTG

Hmmm...I don't get it...then what is this FW update good for regarding this point??: "Users can now save Wi-Fi frequency and channel settings (with DJI GO 4 app v4.1.14 or higher)."

When change to 2.4G between controller and Spark, then the controller will connect to phone on 5.8G, but the problem is that it will connect via a channel that is not allowed i Denmark.
It is a DJI bug.

Only rooted phones where you can change the wifi region can be used (or ipad) or OTG.

IMO controler "has two slots" of freq (two ways of connection) one is 2,4 second 5,8. And if u want connect controller to both devices (dron + phone) one of them must use 2,4 and there cant be second device on this band and free is second one - 5,8. If u set in app tjhat u want connect spark- controller via 2,4ghz and X channel, then u dont have option to choose this also to connect phone to controler - this option of settings (that wifi can be save) is only for connection spark - controler or spark - phone. third device  (smartphone ) if u use already controler and spark is connected by free frequency so if u force spark to use 2,4 then for phone free will be 5,8. One device = one free freq.

Yes and all modern phones can connect to 5.8G without problems if the channel used is legal in your country.
BUT the controller uses a channel that is not legal here in DK, and therefor my phone can not see it.

DJI, any comments??

This problem is from the beginning ... Dji is silent about this problem .. They have already released three FW and neither one fixes this bug ..

Ok I understand that, but then we need the OTG cable right? but DJI do not support the use of OTG with Spark, so what is the point of having this option in this FW? if you don't use OTG then there is only one way to fly and that is by letting the AC and RC choose the best signal wich in this case will allways be 5.8GHz. Last time I tried to connect to 2.4GHz the AC did not connect at all, so I had to switch back to 5.8...
By the way thank you medyq69 for the explanation.

Comments do not happen, Dji is confident that the problem does not exist ... The error is from the beginning of the sale.. Problems are dealt with here: https://forum.dji.com/thread-100550-1-1.html

When you select 2.4GHz on the app, the frequency of the launching WiFi from the RC will be switched to 5.8GHz, then if mobile devices that don't support 5.8GHz can't scan the WiFi and you are not able to get it connected. So then you need to reset the RC's WiFi.
And please kindly note that when you connect the RC's WiFi to one device, other devices are not able to find the WiFi. Though I thought your iPad was not linked to the WiFi according to the pic you provided, I will still want to remind users this point.

hiya DJI Thor,

How is it possible that in AUTO the connection switches between 2.4 and 5.8 in the GO app (RC keeps connecting to my phone) and when i manually switch to 2.4 i cannot connect my phone tp the RC ??

cheers, Hans

The working frequency of the RC could not be the same as the WiFi frequency, so when you change the WiFi settings on the app, the WiFi will relaunch automatically.

DJI Thor,

Ok, guess u did not understand my question to the full.

I am aware that the wifi connection AC<>RC and RC<>Phone is different, so its 2.4 for the one and 5.8 for the other and vice versa.

As you already read many times on this forum not all android phones do connect at 5.8.  So when i manually change in the GO app the wifi to a 2.4 channel it will reset the wifi and i loose connection to my phone because my phone does not connect to 5.8!

BUT when i fly in the AUTO channel mode (starting RC<>AC in 5.8 thus phone in 2.4) i see during flight that the wifi icon changes muliple time from 5.8>2.4 and v.v.AND i keep connection to my phone....

So how is that possible ? Does the RC connect 2.4 to 2 devices at the same time ??

Hope you understand my question better now.

Can DJI provide a list of android phones who connect to 2.4 and 5.8?

Cheers
Hans

So the wifi 2.4/5.8 channel selection in app is about phone<--->RC or AC<---->RC ???

It's the latter one, the connection of the RC and AC.
