I'm looking to purchase another camera. I primarily use the Osmo+, but it's horrible in low-light, and inconvenient for tripods. Do you guys use another camera to shoot? If so, which one do you recommend? I'm looking to spend less than $1,000. Thank you!

I have a panasonic hc x900 videocamera for when I'm shooting moving subjects and want some zoom range.
And most video I shoot with my dslr. Not the most convenient, but I love the look.

A SONY 6300 is the typical go to for under $1000 cameras. The difficult thing is once you spend $1000 on a camera you have to spend another $1000 on a stabilizer like the Zhiyun 2 or Ronin.

Isn't zhiyun a couple hundred? Also, really love the a6300! but heard it overheats a lot. Saw this is numerous reviews, how was your experience with it?

Any advantage of going with prime lens over zoom lens?

Any advantage of going with prime lens over zoom lens?

I started using primes when I switched to Full Frame. First 6 months I just had the 50mm
I really fell in love with this relaxed way of shooting.
Thinking about what shot you want and put on the right lens to make it.
I come home with about 1/2 of the amount of pictures I shot with my zoom lens. And they usually are
better.
I even sold my 24-120 some months ago because it never left home anymore.
Only thing I miss is the VR when filming. Because that helps getting rid of the micro jitter.

But I wont go back to zoom lenses. Maybe only a 80-200 one day.
These primes give me  better price - quality and much better low light performance.

Yea the sony a6300 has been heard to have some over heating issues, yet with a small rig cage , the heat will be dissapate and overheatingis reduced.
