After all I believe for free apps the easiest way is to download apps from AKP Mirror and to transfer them on the CS via USB stick for installation: https://www.apkmirror.com/
For paid apps hopefully somebody here can give advice.
Yeah I think your right, it’s not a big problem for me, I would like to get Ground station, Litchi and airdata , I have never used any other apps.
No panic it will sort itself out and I’m learning all the time. Still plenty of stuff to try out but wing 60kph and pis#ing rain here, maybe Sunday.

That's OK then. then it seems does not want to register CS as a separate single device. I had similar situation with some smartwatches
Thanks nixuspix, I know where I’m going now I just need a couple of apps that I use, no panic just yet. Thanks for your help, it’s time for me to get to understand android.
You are right! It won't work this way if you have no Android device registered on Playstore. I have just tried it from my CS without success. And you can only register the device through the Playstore App it seems. Thus my suggestions above are not working and I shall edit my post accordingly.

Hi nixuspix that’s really nice of you thank you , but I think I might have another option my son has an android tablet he’s not using so going to see if we rig it up, I will use your instructions above to see if I can get sorted.
I’ll let you know how I get on.
Really appreciate your kind gesture,
Hi Iannes,
You go to the main "Settings" menu and open the sub menu "Apps". There you get to a page with two columns. On the first you see the Apps that are currently running. When you slide the screen to the left you will get to the column with all installed apps. There you look for the one you want to uninstall and click on it. Then a new menu will open where you have the option to uninstall. Before doing so you should check if any data has been cached or is related to the App and delete these first. Then uninstall and game over (Screenshots for all here below).
I fully agree with nixuspix! There is a high potential to mess up the very clean software on CS. Better install only those apps you really believe to need (as few as possible) and do it manually one by one.

Im my opinion there are no "must have" but only a few "nice to have" depending on your personal preferences/wishes.
What are your nice to have ?
In OZ , it would be great to have "Can I fly there" the official australian government app on the CS, but it requires google play services. I've also side loaded UGCS, this doesn't have support for the spark, but then it might be overkill for a spark
I wish my CS came with a screen recorder built-in so this interests me for that purpose. Can anyone recommend a stable screen recorder apk? Wonder if the hardware is up to the additional task?

For me it is the screen recorder and probably our national App for NFZ. Maybe Airdata...

Until now I am quite happy with the "Screen Recorder" App. It's a blue dot with a camera symbol. You can see it on my screenshots further above at 64#. It is free and has no advertisements.
Some apps as Wachtberger has pointed out some app require "google play services" to authenticate, mostly the paid ones, so you can't load them directly from the play store in the browser.
You need to use the method of downloading the .apk file from something like apkpure.com onto a sd card or similiar and then run it from the CS explorer program but it's still hit and miss, some apps will function in some areas but other features on the apps will be a problem without google play services
As others have mentioned there are 2 ways to do this
1) apkpure.com on a pc, search for the app you want and then down load it to a sd card or usb stick, put the stick into the CS, use the CS explorer program to locate the .apk file and just run it.
2) use the CS broswer app and open apkcure.com and then just download directly to the CS internal memory, then use CS explorer to run it

Wachtberger, you are a real risk taker, aren't you worried about affecting the base android code ?

Which risk am I taking in your opinion and with what? I have clearly stated that I am not going to install Google Play Services and that I'll keep the number of installed apps to a minimum. Kindly explain.

Sorry I need to be more clear, you mentioned side loading the playstore apk in post 76 that did not work

Yes, and that is why I have corrected my entire review at 64# recommending only manual install app by app with the APK files. Exactly the same what you are recommending because I fully share your concerns about messing up the clean and fast operating system on the CS. We are on the same line I'd say.

I was planning on using the official DJI Crystal Sky mount for the mavic and spark controllers (on order) , the 7.85 would hang off the bottom, similar but larger form factor to to having the Ipad mini in the jaws.
This is the 5.5 on the mount to give you an idea of the system [view_image]
Which standard are you flying in Australia, CE or FCC? If you can use FCC, is that huge antenna device really needed? And if you are in CE, why not switch to FCC? On the legal side I'd say it makes no difference compared to that antenna device.

From my research we are unclear, I believe we can transmit legally up to 36 dbm in 2.4ghz
I think the spark auto adjusts to the GPS location, so I don't know if its FCC or CE, it is more likely FCC.
I'm not looking for range with the Titan Cyclone, just want a strong signal for control and drone fishing on the mavic.
This is an example of what I am trying to do, but here on the west coast of australia, these guys did this in the east

I see... Awesome video and fishing technique. But poor Tuna ;-)

That was a nice video to watch.
Lucky the fish did not pull you down
This is how I am planning to use the CS 7.85in with the mavic/ spark controller, I'm not sure it a good way of doing things, but I don't want to be lugging around extra mav mounts , a ball head and other brackets when I want to swap the CS across to other controllers
I really don't want to unscrew the official DJI CS mounting plate that comes with the P4P mount and have to screw on another bracket each time .
I have the official DJI mavic CS mount on order but I'm pretty sure that was designed with only the 5.5 CS in mind.
This is the form factor
The only problem with this heavy rig , set up this way, is tha there is no way of attaching a lanyard and the weight is at the extremities where the Titan Cylone and the CS 7.8 are.I could lighten the weight and use whip antennas , but I really need the strong signal for the mostly ocean and coast flights I do.

I would like to know peoples "nice to have" apps wants. I would guess most would go for Litchi. But that wont work... yet, without the PlayStore.
